I either find something already done online, ask for a sig on Bulba, or make my own (usually) with MS Paint.

Order of power

1. GIMP
2. Paint.net
3. MS Paint

that's also the order of complexity XD

I usually start with Paint, then transition over to GIMP.

I make all mine in Paint.NET. GIMP makes my brain fizzle out.

I tried Paint.NET but found it harder to use than GIMP, though that's probably because I already had decent understanding of GIMP.

Heads up with GIMP, start up is a bitch, not recommended if you need to get something done now.
