I know I've been busy with work, and I've said that I feel like I should focus solely on work since I think this my job is my best option for my future, but, deep down, I still want to try at least doing something for a Let's Play Channel, so, since I'm off work today, I may try something out later (probably a brief Minecraft video).

...Okay, tried recording a brief video. Turned out incredibly laggy, the audio and video ended up cutting out often when I looked through the video, my commentary was weak and I felt stupid after listening to myself, background noise was an issue, and in the end, all I did gameplay-wise was lag through Minecraft, make an awful brick cube that was supposed to be a shelter, and end up digging a hole and burying myself so I didn't get raped by creepers...

...Yeah, I suck at recording Let's Plays and should never consider doing anything like this. I'm happy with my job and I don't need to think about anything else as a career option right now (not like I could make a career out of Youtube anyway, even if I felt like I was doing a good job with my recording and editing). I also don't like the idea of doing this as a hobby anymore. I don't have much time to even play games, so recording and editing would just make things even crazier for me, and I just want to play games for fun rather than play a game and work through recording, editing, and rushing to get it out before I have to go to work again...

TL;DR, I like video games, and I like Let's Plays, but I don't want to ruin either by making Let's Plays, so I'll leave the LPing to the experts, and I'll stick to watching their videos and playing casually.

Maybe you should start small. Like, not Minecraft.

Try Super Mario World or something. But Minecraft + video recording seems like a recipe for disaster for your computer.

Don't put yourself down, Jo. I don't see any harm in doing let's plays for fun! I guess I could compare it to drawing: sometimes you'll have your "off" and sometimes you'll have your "on" days. But yeah, if you enjoy playing and watching rather than all of that editing business, that's good too! :)

*may have found re-inspiration in Let's Playing* I think I know what game I want to try first for recording, and it will be a completely blind run.

I also have a new idea for how to do my narrative: Just pretend I'm not recording. Whenever I play a game (or anytime I'm alone with my thoughts), I tend to talk to myself anyway, just thinking out loud about what I'm doing or what I need to do, stuff like that (totally not crazy...). So yeah, I feel like that could do well for my Let's Plays, maybe... Doesn't hurt to try it out anyway.
