Straight up fire is nothing, unless it's hot enough to quickly reduce the Terrorcon to slag, you're still screwed. Also note that manned spacecraft are more shielded against heat. I'd also like to further note that it's not very unrealistic that you'd be stronger after being on a sick bed for 6 months trying to recover energy.

Also, I like to train in my mind when I'm down. That's how I get 'stronger.' And when I say training, I guess you could say I'm unlocking new powers with my Zanpakuto.

All those new powers are useless if you're body is blob from a lack of use. Mental strength is one thing, physical strength is quite another.
