I rolled the dice and got a favorable result! My trip down was uneventful, though cool in the sense that it felt like I was in Hyperdrive or something because of the light snowfall being illuminated in the headlights.

The replacement of the tie-rods was fairly straightforward with few hiccups. While I was there, I also discovered there are certain adjustments in the parking brake system that should allow the new cable to work without requiring custom parts.

Best of all, Ayumi is running beautifully down the highway now. It's nice not to have to worry about something failing and sending her into the ditch. I also switched to a higher octane fuel and so far she's responding well to it. Overall there's less vibration, and the ride quality somehow feels better.
