...Another member of my community has passed away at too young an age.

If you remember earlier in the year, I posted a blog about Madison Small, the girl from my school who passed away over Spring Break due to a quick attack of meningitis.

This time it's John Paul (JP) Popovich, an alumni from down the road at Dominion HS. JP was attending the University of Virginia, set to graduate in 2019. He was also an alumni of the SNOW Swim Team, the team until recently, I had been swimming on for five years. He passed away in his sleep last night...they think he had a seizure.

I had the opportunity to swim with JP at practice and watch him swim at meets. He was truly amazing in the water; at just 15 years old he was already in the final heats of the championship meets. When I was younger I would try to model my breaststroke after his. I also used to be good friends with his brother. It is incredibly sad to see such an idol to me pass so quickly.
