Arriving on the second floor, the True Butt guild finds itself in another open clearing with a door at the end.  On the other side, they're met with a FUCKING DINOSAUR at the other end of the room.

They quickly dart towards a door to the left, narrowly avoiding the FOE.  In the next chamber is...another FUCKING DINOSAUR.  They dash across the room to still another door.  This area is devoid of FOEs, with a mining spot in the corner.  There's no way forward from here, so they turn back to face the Raptor in the previous room.  They trick it into chasing them around a large pile of ancient stone bricks which puts them right by the door to the next room, an even larger chamber where another FUCKING DINOSAUR lies.  They apply the same strategy to get around it and make it out of Raptor territory for a while.

At a dead end, they find a familiar hedgehog with its spines caught in a tree.

Hyacinthe rubbed her cheek, which was healing from their last encounter with the hedgehog.  "Alright, I guess we'd better help it again..."  She started to bend down when Victoria pushed her leader aside.
"I'll handle this, Hy."  The Protector sat down next to the hedgehog and started gently pulling it out.  This time, the hedgehog realized they're helping and didn't struggle.  But as soon as she freed it, it leaped out of her arms, making sure to hit her right in the face.  "Bloody hell!"  Victoria grabbed her sword, ready to slice the creature in half, but it had already made its escape.

As they continue their exploration, they notice a glowing monster standing in the middle of the path.  It looks like any mole they might find in the Labyrinth, but as they realize while fighting it, it's much more powerful.  This is a rare breed of enemy.  Nearly every type of monster except bosses can be one, including FOEs.  They give much more experience when defeated, but also have a tendency to flee.

The next creature to bar their way is a large, black-furred wolf.

It shows no hostility towards the group, and shifts its gaze to a patch of stone floor behind them.  Hyacinthe examines it, noting it's no different from the stone pillars scattered about the forest.  But Amelia decides to give it a jab, which makes an echoing noise; there must be a hollow space underneath!  The wolf moves out of their way, its job seemingly finished.

In a small chamber, they find a cute squirrel.  Victoria reaches out to pet it, but the squirrel instead steals their only Ariadne Thread.  It gets away, and the party realizes they're going to have to walk back to town.

As the party proceeds onward, they encounter another FUCKING DINOSAUR.  There doesn't seem to be any way around this one at first glance.  However, they notice a similar bit of pavement to the one the wolf pointed out earlier.  They are able to walk over it, but the much larger creature might not.  As it dashes towards them, the stone path gives out beneath it, trapping it in a hole!
Spoiler:
They run towards the other side of the room while it's incapacitated, and sense a presence on the other side.  The party prepares to draw their weapons, only for it to be another explorer!

"Did I surprise you?  My apologies."  The Protector raises his hands to show he means no harm.  "Now then... I should introduce myself properly.  I am Hrothgar.  Wulfgar and I are members of the Beowulf Guild."  They surmise that Wulfgar must be the dark-pelted wolf they met earlier.  He asks if they're new explorers.
"We're rookie explorers," Hyacinthe answers honestly.
He compliments them on their progress, to which Erza responds that flattery will get him nowhere.
He insists that it's his honest opinion, as they would have to have skill in order to get past the FUCKING DINOSAURS.  Many explorers continue to fall prey to the Raptors to this day.  He asks how they got past the last one.  They tell him that they lured it into a trap.
"I see.  In that case, I'd say you have the observational skills to survive the Yggdrasil Labyrinth."
As they talk, they learn he enjoys giving advice to rookies.  The wolf soon appears, and Hrothgar calls him by name before leaving them to explore the rest of the floor and find the stairs upwards.  Finding a route right back to the entrance, the party begins their trek back to town.

When they arrive in town, a guard appears before them, telling them that they're expected at the palace.  What could Minister Dubois want from them...?

Back at the Palace, Minister Dubois explains that he's selected them to help with running a cafe...?

Years and years ago, there was a master chef named Apicius.  Since High Lagaard has a harsh climate, he used Labyrinth ingredients.  His cooking empowered those explorers who ate it, which caused a huge spike in Labyrinth exploration.  However, he made sure all his recipes were hidden, and upon his death, they'd all been lost...until a few were found just the other day!

After explaining this, the Minister introduces them to the cafe's cook, his granddaughter Regina.
Spoiler:
She tells them she still has to set up stuff at the cafe and will meet them there later.  After she leaves, Dubois apologizes for her rather cold attitude.  He sends them off with directions to the cafe.

There, Regina explains that their job is to gather ingredients and help decipher recipes.  She charges them with gathering rye and sugar beets to make a coffee substitute.  Thankfully, they already have both.  Before she attempts to make it, she asks them to name the cafe.  They settle on "Big Titty."  They probably convinced her it was foreign.

The coffee allows them to recover HP as they walk, which will no doubt come in handy.  Its effects will wear off once they eat something else there.

At Sitoth Trading, Abigail tells them that they're selling a new item: the Blast Grenade.  Using it will disrupt an enemy's charge attack.  She gives them some free samples, and then explains that her dad sometimes says "got to spend money to make money."

They take a quest to babysit the innkeeper's daughter Quona.

She seems really shy, yep.  A guard with a wicked hangover walks in and asks for help finding his citizenship card.  They search the whole town and can't find it, but learn he can get it reissued at the Explorers Guild.  When Hanna returns, the party promises to visit Quona again sometime.

Another quest available asks for some Amazonite to repair a road.

After fetching some Amazonite, Regina approaches them and asks them to come by the cafe. They turn in their quests then head there.
She tells them that the Midgard Library has decided to help out explorers by allowing them to use the Grimoire Stones that the Library developed. These stones each contain a skill and allow whoever equips them to use it. Everyone starts with one Grimoire slot and gains another every ten levels, up to 6 at level 50. A facility has been set up in the cafe to let the party equip. Everybody goes ahead and grabs one.

Phew.

Marion greets them at the forest entrance.  She notices the Grimoires they're carrying and deduces that they've only recently received them.  She invites them for a walk in the Labyrinth.  Inside, she spots some monsters and quietly explains more about Grimoire Stones.  They not only contain skills, but have a chance of splitting off into more stones during battle.  Then she thrusts her sword into the ground, which alerts the monsters of their presence!

As the party deals with the creatures, they notice that their stones have made babies indeed created more Grimoires.  The Guildmaster praises their skill, but tells them not to let it get to their heads.  She then walks off and they begin their trek through the Labyrinth.

"Stop."  Hyacinthe suddenly turned around to face the others.  "Did anyone hear that?"
"Hear what?  Another hedgehog?  Maybe one of those fucking dinosaurs?"  Erza glanced around, hand on her katana's hilt.  If a monster were to attack, there'd be no way in hell she'd let it catch her off guard.
Hyacinthe shook her head.  "No, it sounded like...y'know, like someone calling to us."
"That's 'cause it was."  She swerved back around, coming face to face with a man with long blond hair.  His attire and the bow in his hand marked him as a Survivalist.  She stepped back in surprise and fell hard on her butt.  "Holy crap, you scared me!"
The Survivalist chuckled.  "Yeah, that happens a lot.  Guess I'm a little too used to sneaking up on monsters."  He bent over and offered his hand to her.  "Name's Talus.  Are you all rookies?"
"Hyacinthe," the Highlander replied as she accepted his help.  "And yeah, we're new to exploring."  Once she got back to her feet, she narrowed her eyes at him.  "What do you want from us?"
"Well, uh..."  Something in be bushes caught his attention.  "This can wait till later.  Meet me at the Stickleback Bar later, then we can talk."  And before she could even blink, Talus was gone.

On the third floor, they're met with more FUCKING DINOSAURS.  Though, they also find chopping points and some more treasure boxes, one of them even containing some of Apicius's recipes!  Everything seems to be going fairly smoothly until they find a door in the middle of the floor.  There, Hrothgar the Protector appears, warning them against opening it.  He seems troubled, asking them to go to the palace if they want more information.  He blocks the door, forcing them to return to town.

At the Duke's Palace, Minister Dubois asks them to undertake a potentially dangerous mission.  They accept it, and the elderly man briefs them.  Ten guards have recently gone missing and, he asks our heroes to find them.  Normally, a mission like this would be for an experienced guild like Beowulf or Esbat, but he trusts True Butt enough to ask them personally.  They then head to the bar to meet with the Survivalist Talus...

Sorry for the long breaks between posts. I'll try to figure out a schedule that works soon.
