After reading Soul Eater, I disagree. Maka is normally calm (well, most of the time, she's got a nasty attack involving a book) and when she loses her sanity, she kind of reverts to a kid and can be best described as a combat sadomasochist.

sure it leads to no restraints, but really, its not as creepy, having no emotions at all, at times I've wanted it, and others scorned the idea. Happiness, joy, love, these things cannot exist without sorrow, anger, regret, emotions exist on balance, sanity does not.

I'll agree to disagree with that bit. I would rather face some emotionless dude than square off with an insane girl with a nasty scythe. As for the balance, Maka clearly showed pleasure and joy, but none of the others.

Anybody would rather fight an emotionless man then an insane scythe wielding girl. Heck, anybody would...wait, that's more painful. Anyway, the difference is that the emotionless man unnerves you - he doesn't react to the pain you give him, and he doesn't show any of the signs normal humans give. As they say, he's more machine then man.

Depends on how much of a challenge that person wanted. The insane person often enjoys the pain and would take more chances and risks than a sane person.

Maybe my thoughts are just all mixed up because I tend to look at things from more than one angle and constantly change my opinions as a result.

The current way I see it, sanity governs emotions and allows for rational thinking. Lose the sanity, lose rational thinking and control over your emotions. Though it is impossible to apply this to all individuals as people act differently given the circumstances. The shy may become bold and forceful, the bold may become cowards.

the way I see it, I'm not scared of the fact that they are psychotic and will kill me, either one can do that, I'm more afraid of the emotionless which can then think 100% on logic and then take actions without being distracted or intimidated. Where the psycho will unerve the opponent and then kill them as they run, the emotionless will simply pull out his gun and shoot the psycho thus killing them on the spot without a single qualm(this does not take into account special abilities and the like)
