Re: Freddy Fazbear's Pizza
Markiplier is playing a demo of 4! It's really interesting...much scarier than the others in how it is played...

Also, it's apparently the full game and not the demo. I checked the steam page, and the full game is available now to buy.

*just watched the video* Apparently, Mark did have a demo version that was given out to Youtubers, but, like he said at the end of the video, Scott released the game right after giving out the demo. From the Steam Page:
Scott Cawthon wrote:Ok, so as many of you already know, I'm bad with release dates. The game is finished. :)
Enjoy!

And I just absorbed all of the plot info via TVTropesmosis. Holy shit.

Re: Freddy Fazbear's Pizza
Well, if you're good enough at the game, it can be easy to get through the whole thing fairly quickly. But if there's as much stuff to do (or more) as there was in the last one.....holy crap.

Re: Freddy Fazbear's Pizza
What a coincidence it is that the day I decide to learn more about these games is the day a new one gets released.
My entire experience with Five Nights at Freddy's, beyond watching funny men on YouTube scream at them, is playing my friend's copy of the original one day in my senior year. (These games didn't even exist before I was a senior in high school, now I'm graduated and there are four of them! Chill the hell out, guys!) Apparently you can only have one save file at a time in the first game, so my friend had no choice but to toss me kicking and screaming into the fourth night. I actually did really well, if I do say so myself; I lasted until 5 AM, and I got the tamest scare out of them all so I didn't even poop my pants that much (the screen went black save for the bear's glowing eyes, and then those flickered out, and then the bear popped up from under me and went BOOGABOOGABOOGA and that was how I lost my FNAF virginity).
Now, it has to be known right now: I don't like scary games. The scariest game I've played, if you ask me, is Minecraft. On top of that, I loathe jump scares. Having said that, it really is a testament to the creativity of this game when it inspires a yellow-bellied Pokemon-playing pansy like me to say that these games really are brilliant. They're a very fresh, clever take on the horror genre because rather than lulling me in and then taking me right back out of it with a jump scare that just makes me want to turn the game off and punch the developers who made it, it's admissible in these games because the object of the game is to avoid those jump scares. The jump scares are the entire driving force of the game and all of its challenges presented to the player. Some people can't tell the difference between this and a really sloppy jump scare vehicle like all those "Slender Man" games, but I do see a subtle difference that allows these games to excel.
That being said, I'm not really itching to play these games any time soon, unless I can be surrounded by friends in broad daylight so I won't have nightmares about it, but there's another aspect of the series that makes it really attractive to me, and that's the lore. From what I can tell, these games are actually a really well-constructed example of interactive story-telling (mostly because of the Atari-esque mini-games that the player gets forced into between nights) that doesn't come across as pretentious or pandering in any way. Although, I highly doubt I would be able to say this if my only experience with these games was actually playing them, because I highly doubt I would be looking at the screen for the majority of the really important plot points. At the end of the day, scary games are not my thing, but I do think Five Nights at Freddy's is doing something really special with the genre.
So who's ready for Five Nights at Freddy's 5?!?!?!?!?

Re: Freddy Fazbear's Pizza
There shouldn't be a 5, the developer has promised 4 is the last one, though he's lied to us before.
- Also spoiler discussion about the first night of FNAF 4, NO LIEF INPUT ALLOWED:
- So I noticed that the game is set "5 days before the party." Maybe this is the victim of the bite of '87. Perhaps he had been having nightmares for sometime prior to the party, and when one of the animatronics got close to him in what was a friendly manner, then the kid had a bad reaction to it and tried pushing it away. This in turned made the animatronics think he was a hostile person and attacked.
