That sounds good for the full game, though Valkyrie and Swordmaster come later than the other asterisks, so you might need some other plans for Ringabel and Edea. (Also, of course, an optimal party makes use of more than one class.)

If you want to start planning for the minmaxer in you:

• Tiz has all-around stats, but with a bit of a physical preference (having third-best Intelligence, contrasting with his second-best everything else). He has the best HP, but the worst MP.
  
• Agnes very much prefers magic, having the best intellect, mind, and MP but the worst everything else.
  
• Edea has the best strength and vitality, but bad mind and dexterity, and has the worst intellect and agility.
  
• Ringabel has the best dexterity and agility, but has better vitality than only Agnes. He ties with Edea for second-best MP.
  

The differences between them are minimal at best, though; you can totally run with Black Mage Edea, for example.

Awesome! I'll keep that in mind though.

But yeah, job systems are not my strong suit in RPGs... I usually stick with one for each character and run with that (at least, that's what I've done so far in FFIII (which reminds me that I need to finish that eventually...)).

It works for Final Fantasy III because there isn't a subcommand and passive abilities to consider.

So, I'm about to start Bravely Default soon. Any recommendations on what classes should I run for Tiz, Agnes, Edea, and Ringabel?

Personal recommendations - at least for early on classes - would probably be Monk for Tiz, White/Black Mage for Agnes, Knight for Edea, and Thief (or Mage class Agnes isn't using) for Ringabel.

I have personal bias for black mage ringabel, he has good MP and looks fabulous

Not particularly, but between the first four classes, I prefer Tiz=Monk, Agnes=Black Mage, Ringabel=White Mage, and Edea=Knight.

Bottom line, Mages are smart, Tiz is not.
