Re: The Roost
So I may have accidentally neglected my town again :I
However! I fixed it real quick by talking to a lot of people and pulling a lot of weeds. I don't have much time lately due to homework, but when I do, I'll be working towards my totally awesome town layout that I have planned.
Unfortunately, in the intermission, someone moved in right in front of my house, which I don't want I'm just hoping they're not a really good villager, because I'm gonna have to move them...

So For anyone who's interested There is an Add on/App for Chrome that plays Animal Crossing music in sync with real world time. I'm downloading it right now.

Re: The Roost
So... I may have reset my town again :I
Thing is, I ended up neglecting it again because I tried to keep track of everything in spreadsheets and stuff, and I just didn't have the time. So this time, I'm winging it.
I ended up getting lucky and finding an extremely cool layout pretty quick. The waterfall faces east and the river is extremely straight, which is nice. I usually like bendy rivers, but with this there's a ton of space in the top part of town and a cool peninsula-like part of town at the bottom. It's got the town hall, town tree, and Re-Tail all grouped together in the northwest corner, with a quick path to Re-Tail from the dock. And it's got a huge private beach on the east side, which I like. :D
My starting villagers were Anchovy, Frank, Miranda, Sparro, and Tia. After that, Anicotti, Sylvia, and Chops moved in. I really like Sparro and Frank so far.
I've been playing every day since I restarted at the end of May. I'll post a map when I get around to it. :1

Re: The Roost
I got around to it! :D
I haven't really made much progress on my plans for my dream town, but I'm having fun anyway. My villagers are, starting from left to right: Wolfgang; Chops; Frank; Pecan; Sylvia; Rizzo; Miranda; Papi; and Anicotti.
As is always my luck, my favorite starting villager, Sparro, moved away. ;.; I do like Wolfgang, Frank, and Pecan though. So I guess it worked out in the end. Wolfgang was the first villager to move in from the campsite, so he's extra-special to me.
I'm gonna quote my original comments on the town layout here, just cuz it's easier to see what I mean with a map:
I imagine the bottom half of town basically being ~*~chic waterfront property~*~, with a few villagers along the hillside. I was originally going to have a wind farm in the bottom-center, before I found out that you can't build multiple wind turbines. ;.; So instead, I'm making it sort of a landmark/sight-seeing area, with a Stonehenge and some Moai heads around that dip in the beach.
The peninsula leading up to my house will likely be the only place I'll lay a path; I'm planning on having a long, brick path with bushes and flowers on either side. Because of this, the east ramp down to the beach is hidden, so it's basically my personal entrance to the hidden beach in the top-right corner. uvu
The only thing I'm kinda miffed about is the bridge placement. I planned on removing the one parallel with the train station and moving it closer to where I'm gonna have the Roost. The one on the far left I placed for easy access to Re-Tail from the dock. I was planning on having one near my house as my own secret exit to the top half of town, and for quick access to the Main Street, but as it turns out... the placement of my house makes it so I'm always one space too short when trying to place the bridge. So yeah, I'm gonna have to figure out a new bridge system that I can work with.
But aside from that, I love my town, and I can't wait to get working on it!

I'm gonna quote my original comments on the town layout here, just cuz it's easier to see what I mean with a map:
The top left corner of the map I envision as a sort of metropolitan area, with a few villagers packed in with all there is to do up there. The giant empty area in the middle of town will be a park; I've already got a fountain in the exact center of town, with a yellow bench next to it, and there's a lot of trees there, but not so much that you can't see the sky. That bend in the river with the villager's house, on the left side of mine, will have the Roost. And as you can see, the campsite is nestled in the corner near the private beach, next to a pond.Past Caprizant wrote:I ended up getting lucky and finding an extremely cool layout pretty quick. Re: The Roost
The crown is a really expensive accessory that only appears in the shops every once in awhile, and I normally don't have the money for it. But right now I have a ton of money saved up that I was planning on using to build up my town. So I'm torn between bragging rights and progress, both equally fun things. ;A;
