Anyway, I see you changed your theme to Laguna.
I wonder why you didn't do this before.

Re: General Chat! V4.0
Oh yeah, I learned a very important lesson today. Always double check what plug you are pulling out, even if the teacher told you what it was. Thankfully I didn't learn it the hard way, but we came close. Checking fluids again and this time we got a car (a badly negeleted '98 Chevy Caviler) that wouldn't start for whatever reason. Nevertheless, we lifted it and got under it to find where we would check the transmission fluid level if we could run the car. Now we found the plug and one of us wanted to pull it out, I highly advised against that since the level may be beyond the plug since the engine isn't running the pump and the pan might be completely full of fluid, thus resulting in a huge mess if we removed it.
Well 5 minutes later, my theory was validated by the group next to us, who were working on a Dodge Ram2500. They didn't know for sure which was the right plug and ended up pulling out the drain plug (instead of the check plug) on the transmission and the engine was not running. Needless to say, there was quite a mess. And while kitty litter (we have a nice big trash can full of it) was being dumped everywhere to soak up the fluid (which is red by the way), the teacher commented that he had previously pointed out the wrong plug on the Caviler to us. He had pointed out a pressure plug, which if removed, would've made just as big a mess.

I don't have a car, I know a few stuff, but no English terms FTW...
The plug thing is true, though. In a Physics lesson, once, the teacher gave us a [voltage generator or whatever you call it] and told us to turn it clockwise and check what would happen to the lamp connected to it. Apparently, he thought the voltage would decrease and the light would fade. Too bad we burned all [voltage generators or whatever you call it] in the school :((
Apparently, since there was only one point for zero, at the very bottom of the wheel even the teacher did not know if zero applied for the leftmost or the rightmost spot.

Re: General Chat! V4.0
I highly doubt it was an alternator (which is the generator found in cars, usually located on the front of the engine at the top and driven by the belt, larger but similar devices are just called generators), more likely just a regular little hand-powered generator.Inactive Until Xmas wrote:I don't have a car, I know a few stuff, but no English terms FTW...

They all actually caught on fire? Or refused to work since?

They refused to work. And made the classroom inhabitable for a week from the stench...
