Operation: Morbos

"It chased me all this way here!" Arcturus returned to running for his life. "I didn't get a good look at it, but it's got metal blades for wings!"

Metal blades...... Brilliant.... I would leave the big gun in the ship......

*decides to take a chance and runs for the ship*

Something stepped out of the woods. "Hello, misters..."

It was a child. "...Wanna play?"

Lief turned to the man. "This...is the thing that was chasing you down? The one with, quote, metal blades for wings, end quote?"

*has a big gun now and runs back to the others*

OKAY! WHERE IS THE...... *sees the kid*

You've got to be kidding me......

Meanwhile back at the pilot's airfield in a different dimension. The pilot did not see any airborne threats the previous time and decides that a ground attack aircraft is more useful than an air superiority fighter. The pilot selects the A-10 Thunderbolt II and returns to the other dimension with a full combat load of missiles and bombs.

While the three male individuals were dealing with the small child, a cloaked figure slipped out from the forest and quickly made its way to the riverbank, where a strange blue egg with yellow stars laid on the sand. The figure knelt down besides the egg, then pushed back the hood of its cloak slightly, revealing one left teal eye and one right red eye. The red eye began to glimmer, almost like it was scanning the egg...

"Hmm... odd. My eye can't discern if this egg is organic or not. Still, I can't leave it here, especially if those people intend to fight..."

The voice that emerged from the figure was a woman's, soft, warm, yet with a cool edge that meant that this lady was no pushover. She carefully wrapped the egg in a portion of her cloak, stood up, and quickly raced back into the forest, hoping no one noticed her. As she ran, she softly whispered to the egg:

"Don't worry, little one. You'll be safe with me..."

(Whee, first post. :P)

As soon as the pilot passes through the portal, he senses that are now hostile presences. Recalling the spacecraft from earlier, the pilot firewalls the throttles and dives for the deck, concerned for the safety of the non-hostile beings he now senses. As the pilot levels out just above the tree tops, he arms the 30mm cannon and one of the rocket pods.

The whimpering from within the egg stopped as the woman picked it up. For a split second the stars on the egg gave off a luminescent glow before returning to normal and a voice came from the egg, "T-thank you for helping me..."

The pilot carefully lines up a shot at the girl (having already deemed her an enemy from her aura) and squeezes the trigger for the cannon. Twenty 30mm rounds streak towards the girl while the pilot does a hard turn to the right.

(YOU MOTHERFUCKER!! I AIN'T NO HOSTILE!!)

The woman tensed, her right eye glowing brightly.

"SHIT!!!" she hissed, speeding off again and clutching the egg tightly to her chest.

"I hope I can outrun this!!", she thought, dashing through the forest at a high speed.

The child smirked. "What 'thing', mister?"

Lief grit his teeth. This child was creeping him out. "Were you chasing this guy?" he asked, pointing one of his stubby arms at Arcturus.

(I thought Chaos was the egg?)
