Maybe gifs have to the correct size first before you can use them. I don't have any gif avatars, so I wouldn't know

I cropped it, but apparently, this site doesn't save sig pictures like Bulbagarden.... I'm guessing the site I had it cropped on deleted it after a while...

I could go back to the uncropped one.

Imgur is a good site I'd recommend easily. You have to register (free) but they'll never delete your stuff.
