So the question is: [spoiltext]how long has he had the Shadow? [/spoiltext]

Me too. He's only two years older than my oldest brother. :V

[spoiltext]I would say 13 years, but it almost seems too easy. :B

I can see two possibilities: 1) Almost as long, or even exactly as long, as he's been with Lucifer, or 2) About as long as the barrier's been around Mayview. And those two aren't mutually exclusive.[/spoiltext]

[spoiltext]sometimes I like to think that he got Lucifer after getting the Shadow, kind of as a way to oppose it. But I doubt that--they seem to have a long history together, and LuciFer was probably there 13 years ago.

I bet the barrier was put up shortly after the events of 13 years ago.[/spoiltext]

Oh boy. Lucifer's about to drop the anvil on Spender.

And holy shit, Lucifer is done so well in this page. He's actually legit frightening in panel 8. And his dialogue no longer has the acCENT UPon the wrong sylLABle when he's shouting or [spoiltext]recommending that Spender get Zarei to patch him up[/spoiltext].

I'm liking that he seems to call out Spender on his bullshit a lot, like in panel 3. But he also seems to genuinely care about him, with [spoiltext]the whole foot-in-gut thing (though as he says, he feels it too)[/spoiltext].

Lucifer is just visually and morally a very dynamic character.

Also: take note of all the shadows behind Spender in panel 1. I'm wondering if there's anyone in there we've seen (or haven't seen) already besides the pixhellhounds and some brotherhood members.

Holy shit. As in, like, holy fucking shit. [spoiltext]Lucifer really let loose on Spender there. Like, no mercy. And it really shows with how prominent Cthulhouette is in the background there.[/spoiltext]

Also of note: [spoiltext]"Fished out of the lake?"[/spoiltext] That calls for an extended dramatic flashback sometime in the future.

I feel like the second half of the update is setting us up for something huge. It's like Zack wants us to know where everyone is and what the exact layout of the school is before something big happens. I'm noticing all the teachers we see in the chapter opening—Starchman, Garcia, Baxter, and Spender—are all currently in the same hallway.

That struck me more as a one-off joke than anything, but I could be wrong. :V

So I was rereading the new page now that the full colors are up.

Things I've noticed:

Max leaks his black spectral energy a lot. Also, ever notice how [spoiltext]the energy is not purely black? Closer to Max, the energy is more purplish. I don't know if it's just special coloring, but considering that Max is possessed or something and purple has always been used to show the other being, I think it shows just a hint of the Riddle dude, to remind us of his presence. I don't know, random theory of the night. [/spoiltext]

Also: Max's speech bubble literally flattens Hijeff's hair. Which Cap already pointed out, but I hadn't really noticed.
