Just finished boxboxboy and loved it to pieces

Been interested in the Shantae series for awhile now. Anyone with experience in the series know if I should play the other games first to understand what's going on?

Also, there's other copies still available if anyone is interested, both for Wii U and 3DS.

I bought the original Shantae on Virtual Console. It's a fun slow-paced platformer adventure-type thing, but I've totally lost my place in it so I don't know what it's gonna take for me to make any more progress in it. It's worth it just to see how insanely it pushed the Game Boy Color, and it's great that WayForward has a new way to make money on it because its original GBC release flew under most people's radar.

Damn.... there's a couple of really dark paths too. Having just completed a walkthrough as a Lumen, I also didn't know that one of the characters I met died off screen and thus opened up the only assassin screen I came across in that guided play. Given that I chose to execute him on the spot by my hand and a few other things, I think I ended that with a cruelty of five and a half.

Also interesting, there's two epilogues with a female lover.

Went back to my original play and continued it. Died on like Week 28 or something around there due to bandits putting an arrow in my side. And for some reason I was stupid enough to think that pushing the arrow in further would save my life.

Huh, I'm getting trading cards for playing the game. Each card is a different way Elodie can die in the series, though it is no way connected to what actually happens to her in game. For example, I obtained two cards before she died once. I've also only managed three deaths so far out of eleven.

Right now I'm considering perusing a 100% completion of this game. Though am I willing to make the time commitment... Some things are fairly easy to obtain, others will require careful management of Elodie's schooling and choices to unlock.

You get trading cards by just playing the game. No correlation to what you do in the game. You just have to play for more than 2 hours so you can't buy a game, but the cards and refund it.

Guess who just finally beat The World Ends With You and can now safely say that it was one of the best games he's ever experienced in his life?!

No, because I beat the game like an hour ago, o mi god you just can't be pleased can you? Always gotta have something to hold over me. Well, excuuuuuuuuuse me, princess. It isn't my fault I've been playing this game since November and only just beat it?
