Re: The Dancing Peacock
The epilogue did seem to be setting things up that way, presuming I know my Etrian Odyssey Geography (i.e. Armoroad is to the south).

Yep. Plus, the artbook apparently has an illustration of an important EO3 character looming over an unconscious Faffy.

Re: The Dancing Peacock
If you need ailments you can probably get a Grimoire skill that inflicts one. Also, Palms are best used to give a really powerful attack like Nuclear Formula an element.

Point. I know most of what I'd need an ailment for anyways.Charles wrote:If you need ailments you can probably get a Grimoire skill that inflicts one.

Eh, screw that. Let's roll with it anyways because I don't know.
...Also they bothered to include a remix of Fafnir's transformation theme in the game for Old-Style BGM mode.

They do that for all the new music. I personally like the old-style version of the Yggdrasil Core's theme. (the one that plays during the second phase)
You can change to the new style in Options if you prefer that, though.

Re: The Dancing Peacock
I wanna play EOU again but it is so fucking lackluster compared to IV and U2.
- Spoiler:
- The Story mode feels really bland and average. Like, it was interesting the first time, but subsequent runs I'm just mashing A to skip dialogue so I can go and use the features and stuff that are exclusive to it. Frederica is like the only party member I'm emotionally invested in, compare to TFK, where Chloe is hilarious, Bertrand has a great backstory, Flavio and Arianna are cutie patooties, and protag has a neat class and fun dialogue choices.
Yeah, there are a ton of things exclusive to Story for no goddamned reason. The Gladsheim dungeon, A bunch of monsters and materials, (which iirc still go towards logbook completion ON CLASSIC) a guildkeeper, (which just happens to be my favorite of the three guildkeepers) and two fucking classes.
And Grimoires are kinda shit in this one. Like, instead of being able to equip up to six, everyone gets one with 1-7 skills. And how many skills a Grimoire has is random, with 7-skill ones being so fucking goddamned rare you usually only ever get one per playthrough. You can fuse them, but that basically means you're transferring the skills you want from the Grimoire with fewer skills to the one with more. If you fuse a 4 and a 3, for example you're not gonna get a 7, you just have the option to replace the shit skills on the 4 with ones from the 3.

Re: The Dancing Peacock
...A Barehanded Fafnir just traded me a Weapon Free Grimoire Stone.
How can that even happen? Last time I checked, there's an entire one Fafnir in existence at a time... and he's in my party. And decidedly not using Weapons Free.

Re: The Dancing Peacock
So you know the quest where you need to give another guild either a fire-using guild member or a Fire Jar?
An Alchemist knowing Fire Palm and no other fire skill doesn't fit the criteria.

Re: The Dancing Peacock
It does? I got blocked from using any of my party members and I was using the Fafnir.

I threw a Fire Jar at the problem.
Or maybe Flame Sabre only counts in Story mode?

Re: The Dancing Peacock
Finally figured this out. When you retire someone, they'll be available for Grimoire trades. Since I retire my peeps into themselves, there's now two of everyone in my main party running around.Charles wrote:So I return to the cafe to check up on my advertisements and check Grimoire Trade. See some pretty standard stuff, like Rookie Survivalist and Sword Dark Hunter. But at the bottom of the list I find...my own Gunner, Basil.
What the hell, Basil? Where the fuck did you get Charged Volt level 8?
