In my quest to watch a number of RPG Maker Horror games I discovered it, and it is my favorite of the bunch.

The Witch's House with Cry (also good, my second favorite)
Mad Father with Markiplier (not as good as the other two though still good in my book)
Ib
Misao (probably my least favorite one so far, but it did serve the creator as a good start into game creation which was improved upon in Mad Father)
The Forest of Drizzling Rain

Now I'm on Ao Oni and eventually want to make it through:

The Crooked Man
The Sandman
Paranoiac
Mermaid Swamp
To The Moon

Perhaps it’s just because I’m not looking for it, but I’ve seen a lot more fan material for Ib, Mad Father, and The Witch’s House than I have for the other items on this list.

I wish this was real; from the same guy who's made a couple of great Gravity Falls animations:

If you had the time and urge to play/watch one of these games, I'd recommend playing/watching Ib the most. Wonderful cast, engaging story, great atmosphere (owed in part due to its lovely soundtrack), and high replay value due to multiple endings all combine to form one enchanting game.

There's even a fanmade anime that tells the story of the game through the fanart of various artists, which I think is nothing short of awe-inspiring and a testament to the quality of the game.

I've only watched the first part but given the circumstances and limitations I'd say it's pretty darn good:

Wikipedia and the Ib wiki have the 'b' in lowercase, but I have seen it stylized as both.

Both characters are wonderful fellows (without getting into details).
