I came across a broken one yesterday when I got lost and thought that the portal I came through got broke...

Not a pleasant thought being trapped in the Nether.... Scared

That would suck DX It's why it's always a good idea to have a chest with a flint and steel in the nether.

Sounds like you found the original portal, which is below the current one and was broken by removing a block from it.

So the latest Achievement Hunter Let's Play now has me in the mood to make & host a similar event on our server. All the monsters is kind of a no no due to hardware limitations, but otherwise this would be rather interesting.

We could either build a tower from scratch or use what Charles has built.

Alright so after quite a few hours of work, me and jokool have prepared for you guys a game called "Storm The Castle". Our game is based off of Achievement Hunter's Storm The Tower Minecraft Let's Play.

The way the game works is that the Attacking Team must steal the gold blocks from the Defending team, also called the Castle Team because Charle's Castle is where the gold is in the form of the Tower of Pimps at the top of the central tower.

If the Attacking Team steals all four gold blocks and manages to erect it on their block of obisidan within an hour, then they win. If they do not steal all four, it'll be determined by which team has more blocks on their blocks of obisidan.

The Defending Team will be guarding the Tower and setting up traps. The Castle already has some traps preinstalled in the walls.

Rules:

All we need to do now is set up a date. Seeing how half of use have band camp or something like that, we're most likely looking at doing this in the afternoon.

Just had a thought: The castle is a fair distance away from the main house. The AH Let's Play had them based fairly close by and they barely did anything in an hour. Should we allow more time?

I've thought about extending it and so far I'm sticking to an hour for two reasons

1. Failure can be quite frustrating.
2. Having 3-5 people stay constantly for over an hour could be difficult.

If everyone participating is willing and there's at least one willing person on both sides, I don't see an issue with extending the time limit.

And that test went horribly wrong. I am so shocked by how bad that test went that tomorrow morning I want to make a modification to the tower to help reduce the severity of such a disaster, but still leave enough of it there that it remains an exploitable weakness.

Also just putting this out there, there are weaknesses in the Castle other than what I am going to correct tomorrow.
