A Galaxy Far, Far away...

I'm creating this thread because of two reasons:

First, there's going to be new movies, so I imagine Star Wars will come up a bit more frequently (at least for me).

Second, I just saw a video from IGN talking about rumors for the upcoming movies.......

J.J. Abrams is going to ruin Star Wars.

Why?

Well, the video from IGN (which I'll post below) makes it seems like he's basically going against the original plots and plans for the movies and just making everything to his liking, which just doesn't sound very good to me...

Okay, I know nothing is set in stone yet. He could do a good job. I'm just concerned that he's going to make too many changes and turn it into something that's just....not Star Wars.

Also (this is what really gets me), there's a rumor that he's casting someone to play the daughter or granddaughter of....Obi Wan Kenobi......

That seems to be a perfectly legit reason to not like it.

No Jedi is supposed to marry, or even fall in love.

While it is possible to somehow write in that Obi Wan did have a secret love interest (I have a Star Wars novel that has something like this), my opinion is that Obi Wan would never do something like this since it was so forbidden.

...I guess another theory is that he had a lover/wife after the fall of the Jedi, but again, I don't see him doing anything like that.

I find it possible that he could have taken on a disciple while in exile and it didn't turn out too well.

But that wouldn't explain the "granddaughter" title.

If the disciple was female and significantly younger....

Episode VII has finished filming, and the name of the movie has been officially revealed to be The Force Awakens.

To me, it sounds like a rip off of The Force Unleashed video games.
