luckily, I own the azran legacy, as well as the movie. and in my opinion, descole should get in the smashing scene.

no this is not one of those baseless conjectures for who should be in smash, for various reasons:
1. he overpowered layton at fencing numerous times.
2. he can dodge an army of bullets at 50 MPH without getting shot, as seen in the post-credits scene of miracle mask.
3. layton has undoubtedly been nintendo's hugest series in the past 10 years selling more than any other series and sub-series they've come up with (excluding PMD, because that's a given).
4. layton vs wright is coming up soon, and since phoenix was in ultimate marvel vs capcom 3, why can't a layton character be in a fighting game as well?
5. descole's a genius with machines, so his final smash could be something machine related

if not a character, then how about a stage, trophies, stickers, and songs in the same fashion as animal crossing in brawl?

I'm kind of iffy on number 3, if only because that means Layton is outselling Mario and Pokémon (Mystery Dungeon gives good sales?).

If anything, though, Layton himself would probably represent the Layton series, given that pretty much all of the franchises have their Main Character (or the first one, for games like Fire Emblem) representing them (the only exception I can think of off the top of my head is the Mother series - Ninten wasn't ever in Smash).

but number 3 is about NEW series/sub-series from 2003-2014,(technically 10 1/2 years but whatever) such as warioware, art academy, brain age, steel diver, PMD, mario & sonic at the olympic games(although that's also owned by sega), eternal darkness, (Nintendo's only game rated "M for Mature" by the ESRB, due to it's survival horror nature) and so on.

actually nintendo is in MAJOR financial trouble, according to CNN and the wall street journal, but it still doesn't give phillips the right to sue nintendo like everyone currently is!
"oh hey this company who's been in the gaming industry the longest is currently in financial trouble and will cause the end of the world if they go the way of sega and atari, so let's sue them! we don't care what happens to the industry or the world as a whole!"

Of course, it doesn't mean that they'll lose anything either.

Plus, Nintendo has a really good counterpoint - the Wii doesn't use a camera to capture the person's motions. They use like IR technology to track the controller's motions.
