The Galactic Arcade [v1] - Page 32 Empty Re: The Galactic Arcade [v1]

Here's the issue, that's a third party game jokool, and I hate to say this, but third parties almost never give it their all when making a port to nintendo, not since the snes/nes days, it comes down to two things, architecture and audience

Nintendo Systems have almost always been weaker, and as such, programmers can't do as much as they could on other systems the same way, since they have to recode things to optimize it. This causes ports to be more expensive, and to make a profit, they have to spend less time on it, which means less features which leads to...

Audience, most people who get a Nintendo system do it mainly for Nintendo games, games you can't get anywhere else. Those games sell the best on nintendo systems and all tend to be more family oriented. That means games that aren't as family oriented(most 3rd party stuff) doesn't sell as well. That means they make less money on that port, so they need to cut costs to maintain profit...which means cutting features which means people who would buy it will now buy it on another system where it has more features which means less sales...meaning more cost cutting and less features...as you can see, the only way to break the cycle is for a third party to release a great game and then people buying it...which hasn't been happening much because most third parties have been stupid with their releases *cough*raymanlegends*cough*

I don't know about you guys, but its especially hard for me to deal with all the negativity nintendo is getting since I am trying to retire from the console wars...its like a soldier tired of war retires but then his country is being attacked relentlessly, he can either retire and watch his country be attacked or get back on the battlefield he hates....

on another note, two third parties I heard of recently are trying to be that cycle breaking hope, ae games and BNC Design studios

I have doubts about AE Games but BNC could be good...maybe?

I agree on the nintendo issue, but when the main source of power in economics, THE INVESTORS, are even encouraging nintendo to go third party, you have to wonder...
and the only reason I like sony is because their exclusive titles are more family friendly and are either E10 or T(unless you're talking god of war, but that's not the case). ratchet and clank, sly cooper, littlebigplanet, inFAMOUS, uncharted, jak and daxter, and so on are all titles I loved on the PS2 and 3, but even then they have their share of curses, dirty jokes, and dark themes, (ratchet and clank is widely known for having curses and dirty jokes galore in an E10 game)
the ONLY M game I liked on playstation was the last of us, and that's because it had an AMAZING narrative, comparable to that of some of the godfather part II or a pixar film.
anyway... I hate haters, especially the idiots and trolls who diss nintendo on a daily basis.

Bah. What people are missing is what the Game Pad can do, the imbeciles.

For instance, it allows you to play the games you want while not disturbing what your other family members are doing. Want to play Bayonetta 2, but your kid's in the room? Slap it on the Game Pad, your kid doesn't see the M-ratedness, you get to.

Also take, for instance, the fact that it's basically the Touch Screen for the DS for the big screen (screeeeeeeen). There's a lot of possibilities with that - store information on the Game Pad so it doesn't clutter up the big screen. Let the player access their inventory with little to no hassle. I realize this contradicts with my first point, but you know what? It's a second screen. It can do a lot more then what Sony and Microsoft can't. Sure, Sony has a screen on its controller, too, but what purpose could that serve? And Microsoft has the Kinect...but the Kinect was a failed attempt at copying the Wii's success. People won't really want to jump into it again (I think).

Also, romch...do not mention Nintendo and third-party in the same sentence.

Honestly, investors are stupid :T

They also want nintendo to go on mobile devices despite clear evidence showing that they'd LOSE money, investors in all honesty care about short term gains, not long term, especially after the wii. As for your game choices, I can get behind jak/daxter(at least the first one), ratchet/clank, sly cooper and LBP, which were some of the games almost got me to invest in a playstation, idk why, I just prefer whimsical vs realistic/dark, despite how villainous I can be :T

Now for something totally different:
I'm finally listening to the music disk that came with my Kirby Anniversary game and I am loving it! Oh and I 100% Dreamland 2!(final boss cost me 20 lives) am now playing dreamland 3 and honestly, it feels like it moves too slow and I'm not a fan of how certain powers got nerfed but oh well (WHY CAN'T KINE SHOOT LIGHTBULBS ANYMORE AND FIREBALL KIRBY DOESN'T FLY AS FAR!)

EDIT: also yeah Lief, I love the gamepad, tried it at a friend's house, his family was watching TV so we took the gamepad to a nearby room and just played on there, was AWESOME!

it took me FOREVER to beat zero in my walkthrough of dream collection, since I recorded all the final bosses before I finished the game, (except kirby's adventure since bosses can't be replayed in that game)
plus, if anyone saw this post in the lava cooler, I thought it was this thread.

Yeah, that does kind of suck. But you can get off of Rick and inhale the thing you want to inhale as Kirby.
