aw man that isn't even the good Onion Knight SB
rip 50 Mythril
(personally I'm saving for WoL's CSB/Sentinel Grimoire on the last banner, also Cloud's USB)

Re: The Crystal Room [v2]
Against all better judgement, pulled on the current Summer Fest banner.
Profited rather handsomely, with a Premium Heart (Tifa USB Meteodrive: ten phys earth/"non-elemental" attacks, +Haste/damage reflect/major Regen to all allies) and (two, egh) VI Excaliburs (Celes SSB Indomitable Blade: five phys attacks to one target, +Runic).
Also got an Eternal Staff (Onion SSB Blowback: five magic non-elemental attacks, restores 40% HP to all allies). Great for my currently-physically-aligned Onion Knight!

Re: The Crystal Room [v2]
*draws on the current banner, hoping for Sentinel's Grimoire (because one of Tyro's Legend Materia extends the duration of buffs and Y'shtola doesn't have an equivalent) and WoL's Holy Chain Soul Break*
*gets Arbiter's Apocrypha and some Soul Break for a FFXI character I'll never use instead*
,_,
(still decently close to 50 Mythril, so I might try again, but I might not have enough Mythril to try and get Cloud's USB. Which is fine, that's better as a RW anyways, but.)

I was on Google Play earlier and I saw something for a mobile game based on FFXV? It looked like a generic strategy game. >.>

Re: The Crystal Room [v2]
I saw that too.
I can't attest to its quality, because... eugh, generic mobile strategy game.
Though I'm mildly interested in what the units are. I could definitely see what they'd be in, say, an Ivalice-based game (the units from the Tactics Advance games, easy), but... FFXV?

Re: The Crystal Room [v2]
Record Keeper's latest Multiplayer Battle is against the Tonberry King from VIII. All it has is two attacks. The first, Ultimate Junk, deals light damage and Sap. Not a problem, right?
The second is Ultimate It's Sharp!. It deals a metric fuckton of damage. For reference: Gilgamesh has a ton of DEF (the highest I have), and was stacked to the brim with DEF buffs (namely Sentinel's Grimoire and Draw Fire, which usually is enough), and the Tonberry King had its ATK lowered a pretty good chunk (Power Breakdown + Mug Bloodlust + Full Break).
It still did 9999 damage.
You basically need Last Stand (endure an attack that would kill you at 1% HP) in order to survive, and guess whose only (non-RW) source of Last Stand is the Master's Burst Soul Break, which only gives it to himself? (Of course, since it's multiplayer I could have someone else bring it...but MP Tonberry King opens with Ultimate It's sharp! and I'd have to rely on pick-up groups. Ugh.)

- They're really scraping the bottom of the barrel for FFI characters in FFRK:
This is the thief from the NES version. His design was only used in the NES version, and I'm pretty sure they're using it because the "modern" (read: FFIII on) thief design is used as the Core Thief.

Re: The Crystal Room [v2]
Global just came out with a newcomers' welcome campaign. Even to veterans, there's a bevy of delicious content to indulge in, including three new event dungeon sets (one released right now, but it'll be an eventual total of thirty mythril) and 25(!!) free Mythril (and other rewards for 10 days).
That said, if you are a newcomer, I'd recommend against drawing on the included banners. While they only cost 25 mythril first pull, their contents...aren't that great. Namely because they include OG Unique Soul Breaks. Can't even master that for a stat bonus...
I, personally, would recommend using that 25 Mythril (+25 more mythril) on different banners.
The first is Keeper's Choice Vol. 2: Most of these are outdated by now, admittedly (though it's not like that'll matter a ton for new players). However, there's still three notable picks from the banner:
The other banner is the current VII banner. Which is also one of the realms being featured in the Newcomer thing. Man, they didn't plan this through well... Notable highlights - at least in my opinion - is the Enhancer (VII-CC; I believe it still counts as VII for synergy). This gives Zack Fair the Chain Soul Break Lucky Stars, raising the party's Attack by 50% and increasing the damage critical hits deal, as well as starting a wind chain, increasing the amount of damage wind attacks deal by (20 + amount of wind attacks used in chain)%. This is far more useful for its stat bonuses than the chain, honestly. :V

The first is Keeper's Choice Vol. 2: Most of these are outdated by now, admittedly (though it's not like that'll matter a ton for new players). However, there's still three notable picks from the banner:
- Masamune (V). Grants Gilgamesh the BSB Gilgamesh Morphing Time!, dealing eight 98% attacks to one enemy, draw all attacks towards the user (normally Gilgamesh), raising his defense by +200%(!!), and enter Burst Mode, granting Haste and two new commands: Dual Thrust, two 130% attacks that cast Dispel on its target, and Tsubamegaeshi, which is the same except it allows Gilgamesh to evade and counter all physical attacks. Dual Thrust's Dispel effect is great, and Tsubamegaeshi is surprisingly useful for a large amount of content.
- Sentinel Grimoire (Core). Grants Tyro the unique Soul Break Sentinel's Grimoire, raising the party's defense and resistance by 200% for 25 seconds. This stacks with Protect and Shell, and combined is a verrrrrrrrrrry nice way to mitigate damage. So nice that a lot of endgame bosses have to have at least one attack that outright ignores the stats.
- Platinum Sword (Tactics). Grants Ramza the Super Soul Break Shout, raising the party's attack by 50% and granting them Haste. Simple, but oh-so-effective in giving physical parties a great damage boost. (Note that a single point of attack/magic would raise damage far more than a single point of defense/resistance would, which is why GMT and SG have way larger boosts than Shout.)
The other banner is the current VII banner. Which is also one of the realms being featured in the Newcomer thing. Man, they didn't plan this through well... Re: The Crystal Room [v2]
So, apparently, there is a Windows version of XV coming next year. Not too surprised, but a bit disappointed they announce it after I get a PS4.
