Okay, so I noticed that a new patch was out for Paladins, and they added a new sniper. Figured I'd check out the full patch notes and see what else was new.

New sniper seems cool, and he has something I've been thinking would be cool to have in a team based shooter: a second weapon you can switch to.

I'll say it again, he looks really cool:

Anyway, if I was just going to post that, I probably wouldn't have bothered (even though he is really cool). What I really want to point out is a change they made this patch.

There's a few, but one stood out to me...Ruckus no longer has one of his shielding abilities and has missiles in it's place.

Jump over to Overwatch, and they recently announced for the next patch that D.Va is getting missiles, but her shield is getting nerfed a bit.

There's too many coincidences in these two games...

Okay, got a few more loot drops today, including 2 more of the Legendary Summer Skins!

...only it was Biker Reaper and Tulum Sombra... I'll use them, but I really wanted the Mercy and Widowmaker skins...

Good news is that it seems like the event will last at least one more day, but just in case, I went ahead and bought a few things (like the bicycle kick intro for Lucio). The rest of my credits I'll be saving up for the next events (like Halloween so I can at least buy Witch Mercy).

Anyway, Greece, if you're online tomorrow, I'll be glad to level grind more with ya when I get home from work. Only working until noon, so depending on when you're available, I'll have all afternoon and evening for Overwatch.

So, given that there's a 6GB update for Overwatch, I'm assuming the Summer event is officially done. Good thing I logged in this morning before work and got two more chests (last win I needed in arcade with a fortunate Lucio Ball game where my team was OP, then a quick level grind for one last chest). Unfortunately, there wasn't anything noteworthy in said chests, so I'm out a Mercy and Widowmaker skin until next summer.

Of note, I did see some nice buffs for Junkrat (*insert maniacal laughter*), Orisa, Roadhog, and Widowmaker (about time they decreased the cooldown for her hook) in this patch.

Oh, and Deathmatch is in this patch as well, so that should be interesting to try out.

I'm assuming the changes to Mercy and D.va, along with the new Junktown map, will be in the next patch. I'm also assuming the next patch won't be as big as this one. *will be downloading this patch overnight*

I want to try this now:

Quick summary if you're not interested in the video: Custom game as Doomfist with unlimited cooldown. You get to spam uppercut and can basically fly in the air like a super saiyan god and one punch man people (there, two anime references in one go).

But yeah, even Overwatch has it's moments. Haven't seen much on the next update, but they're giving D.Va missiles (blue button) and changing Mercy's ult (red button).

So, every time Overwatch updates, it takes up more and more space on my PS4, correct? Does that mean there'll come a time where Overwatch is just too big and I have to get rid of it, or potentially not be able to download it at all? Is critical Overwatch mass approaching?

That's when you plug in an external hard drive and keep on marching.

I also doubt the game will get that large. Patches can be big, yeah, but aren't they usually to change things in the game? If so, wouldn't the old files be overwritten and/or removed?

Depends on the coding. Patches could be huge rewrites of code into a much smaller portion. Or the opposite. Tweaking champions likely won't see much change in file size. In general I'd say most patches are going adding new and overwriting files.

True, I also know updates leave a lot of room, so the memory requirement is more like a liberal estimate.
