Proofreading 101

Post by Truthseeker4449 on 3rd September 2015, 1:31 pm

So I felt we needed a thread for getting help with proofreading. Here it could be anything from a sentence to an entire essay.

And for the first one, this is from a paper I'm presently writing.

So then in a rather loud voice, I said “Yeah we do, I can’t read your handwriting.”

So, in a rather loud voice, I said, "Yeah we do. I can't read your handwriting."

Could also be, "Then, in a rather loud voice, I said..."

I don't know the context of the dialogue, so I'm not completely sure how to proof it. It could be anything from "Yeah, we do, but I can't read your handwriting," to "Yes we do. I just cannot read your handwriting." or anywhere in between.

I suppose I should've said that I was mostly looking for correct use of grammar and what not outside of the quotation. Doink!
