Re: Rune Factory Frontier Journal! - Spring 30
- spring 10:
- Well then....I am in awe. Bamboo shoots...everywhere. And they seemed to be glowing? I picked them and then spoke with Annette who gave me my mail. She wondered who I'd send a letter to today before running off.
After cleaning my field I went for a walk and saw Kross fixing his roof. I then ran into Eunice by the inn who was sweeping. We spoke for a bit and she told me that she used to feel lonely but now had so many friends. Made me smile.
I then visited Erik...and guess who was there? Annette! She and him were having breakfast! I. Ship. It.
Anyway, Erik gave me some formula c in exchange for the turnip. Apparently this formula speeds up plant growth so I should use it wisely. Annette then told me I should get more exercise as I was looking a little weak. I laughed it off and left, looking at my arms. Did I really look that weak?
As I walked around I ran into Rosetta who told me she was bored so she wanted me to take her somewhere. I began to panic and she laughed and said as if she'd ever go out with me. Is today the day girls ruin my self confidence? Well I then visited Lara and she simply told me to take care of myself. I wandered around and found a book, so I read it:
"Spring 1, today a traveler came looking for a place to stay despite there being an inn.."
I realized it was a diary and instantly put it down, I don't know what I would do if somebody was reading my journal. I mean, its not like its visible to hundreds of people right?
I then went to the Clock Tower and spoke with Kanno who was amazed at how far I had traveled and told me that I was now his 1000th student and to go get him some cheap cloth for an experiment. Before I left I spoke with Cinnamon who told me her hobbies...after I asked. She likes celestial observations, and fishing.
I climbed the beanstalk and went into Lagga, finding what I needed quite fast...but I was after something else. I went in deeper and ran into a small pink elephant with grass on its back. It looked lost and just ran in a circle before leaving. It was odd, but there was still something I was after. I left the cave and saw what I wanted. A woolly running around. I used my pet brush on it to try to befriend it...and it hit me a few times. I stood through the pain and managed to befriend it! I named it Wally and sent it to the barn and decided to grab some nearby loot.
That was when I saw it. A majestic wolf. I had to befriend it. I tried to use my brush...and it bit my arm. I shouted in pain and had to warp away. When I got home, I saw Cinnamon sitting by the river near my house fishing. I asked how the fishing was going as I bandaged my arm and she asked if I wanted to fish. I said sure, and she gave me a cheap fishing rod and even taught me how to fish!
I fished as my arm healed and then before I knew it I was alone. I put the fish in the shipping box and left for the bathhouse and soaked in the water when I heard Candy's voice:
"Sis, how many years are we apart?"
"Six."
"So even in six years I won't change much..."
"Don't worry about it..."
Cinnamon was in the bath near mine. Probably naked. Aaaand I overheated.
Once I left the bath, I kept seeing a naked Cinnamon in my head thus I charged into the Green Ruins ready to fight. And boy did I fight. This time I made it to the third floor, but had to stop as bees, wizards, and who knows what else attacked. Now injured and worn out I decided to see how Wally was doing...and saw the elephant sleeping in my barn! I left it there and pet Wally before heading home to sleep. Wonder what tomorrow will bring!

Yay to overheating :D
Since keeping up with daily updates is actually tough I can do two things, either post daily until the end of the in game month then start the next in game month updates on the first of the next irl month, or I can not post an update on either saturday or sunday, which do you guys prefer?
- spring 11:
- Woke up early and tended to the crops. No mail from Annette today as she just said hi and continued on her route. I then went to go see if Eunice was doing okay and entered the inn.
- Spoiler:
The girl got up and in the most formal manner said she was okay. Then a strange small flying thing began to speak. I barely listened to it as I thought it was a monster and drew my blade. The girl then repeatedly said she was fine and the thing stopped talking. She then asked for my help and left the inn.
I left the inn after her but she was nowhere to be found! I ran around town looking for her but found nothing. I then went up to the lake and found Lute instead. He told me he wanted to be a painter but didn't know if he could do it. I encouraged him and he seemed so happy, though he asked if I could buy some paintings...but I'm broke!
I continued my search and found Kross, he told me that nobody wants to grow dead grass, but in the end that's what it becomes. Deep.
I then found Mist who asked if I would give her a symbol of our friendship and I responded with why I had to be the one to give it! She said because nobody else was there. Mist, why are we friends again?!
I then ran into Cinnamon who stared at me before saying I had a talent for magic and I should use it. She then told me to talk to her grandfather, so I went to visit him and gave him the Cheap Clothe he had requested, and he gave me a fire rod! He said with it I could use magic, though I probably wouldn't be as good as a real wizard like him or Cinnamon...wait Cinnamon is a wizard?
I then checked on Wally and he decided to follow me on my adventure in the Green Ruins. I ran in, remembering a warning Kanno had given me. Because of the pleasant weather, monsters stayed there a long time...so it wouldn't be surprising if monsters grew to large sizes...
Either way, me and Wally beat up plenty of monsters, until we got surrounded. Wally distracted them and I used my new rod to fire fireballs...and though I missed a lot, the ones that hit seemed to hurt they plenty. We kept pushing forwards...until some wasps poisoned us and we had to leave.
We went to Lara who cured us, and then took a bath. I then fished for a while before shooting fireballs into the sky. I had to get better at aiming! I then decided to call it a day a little early....oh crud I never found the girl!

Though the each month update sounds very interesting, I think maybe not updating Sunday would be best.

Agreed that it does sound interesting to just update every month, but it would probably mean that there'd be large gaps in between updates once the month ends in the game.... I'm enjoying this a bit too much to have to wait a month for another update!

- Spring 12:
- Bright and early and out the door to water m-
Its raining. A lot. Welp, since I have extra time I spoke with Annette to get m-
No mail. Welp, guess I can go to the inn! There I talked with Eunice who told me she didn't like the rain because she couldn't do laundry. From there I wandered around town and saw that nobody was out. Eventually I reached the library and found Selphy too focused in her books to notice me. I dug around the shelves and found the tale of Arthur, a man who entered the Green Ruins. He commented on how spring plants grew everywhere and when he reached the third floor...it ended in a cliff hanger. Dangit.
I then went into the church and found Rosetta and Erik there, as well as Lara. I spoke with Lara who told me that her daily routine included cleaning the church, and she loved how the stained glass windows looked when clean. I admired them for a few minutes then left for the Clock Tower.
There I saw Cinnamon who told me the rain made her sleepy, and found Candy cooking. She told me that Runeys could be moved, and gave me a harvester to do so. Seeing as it was raining and nobody wanted to go outside, I grabbed Wally and went into the Green Ruins. We easily made it to the third floor and I met the wasps again...who poisoned me again.
I was forced to leave and I wandered around a bit until the bathhouse opened up. I had run into Marco who was hanging out with Candy. He asked if we could fight since he felt he was stronger now, and Candy told me she had never seen so many Runeys in one place before and that it was a bit sad...
I then waited outside the bathhouse and when it opened I charged into the bath, throwing the pay at Melody. Now that I was healed up, I ran into the ruins again and this time made it to the fourth floor...where a massive door stood. I opened it and was greeted by a giant beast! It had the head of a chicken and body of a lion and wings of a bird! Was it a griffon? Either way, it tossed Wally aside and I swung my blade at it, to no effect. I took a strong blow to the body and tried to warp...only to find out my warping was blocked off somehow. I then drew my staff and pelted it with fireballs. They seemed to be working...until it slashed at me knocking me out.
I awoke in the infirmary again and rushed home to write this. Its holiday now so I hope to get some good stuff from Lute!
I honestly was not thinking of revealing this so early but here we go. Something I've been thinking about is the Eunice path. As you grow closer to her, she eventually asks if you like slimmer girls. Here you can say if you like slimmer girls or you can respond with "not exactly". If you say not exactly, no change happens, but if you say you prefer thinner girls, she will go on a diet and do exercise and not like sweets anymore. Now here's the conflict. I feel awful picking either option simply because I will not be marrying her (everyone gasps at the reveal that that ship is sunk). I'd explain my reasons but then that'd give away who I will marry and I can't be having that now can I :P.
Anyway, the reason I feel awful with both choices is, if I tell her I prefer thinner girls she'll actually change herself to try to get me to like her more and I feel like a jerk making her change when I already know I'm not after her. The other option also feels awful to me because, like I said, I'm not going to marry her, so I'd be lying to her and filling her head with false hopes ;o;
So I'll let you guys try to convince me with which one to pick :D
All I know is that you can see her in a swimsuit if she's thinner, she'll no longer like sweets, she'll exercise in the mornings, and idk what else while there will be no drastic changes to her with the other option (no swimsuit though because she's too self conscious :V). So those are the only in game changes that I know of, so now that you're informed, help ;o;

...I keep forgetting who everyone is and what they look like...
...But yeah, both sound like awful choices... Do you have to pick, or can you just avoid having her ask you that?

She will ask you when either her friendship or love reach high enough, so the only way to avoid the question is by not interacting with her, which means we miss out on some events relating to other girls

Re: Rune Factory Frontier Journal! - Spring 30
- Spring 13:
- Holiday. Sick. And low on funds.
Lovely.
I ran out of my house and watered my crops, and felt exhausted already. I harvested the turnips and tossed them in the shipping bin, I'd need the funds for what I'm after. I then went into the business district and met Eunice, who was feeling sleepy in the warm air, and I saw the mystery girl again with a spear! She introduced herself as Uzuki and asked where I had vanished off to the other day, with me saying it was her who ran off.- Spoiler:
She said she was from a country to the east, and she was looking for a man. As we spoke, the little floating monster thing began to yell at me. He said that no matter how beautiful Uzuki is I was forbidden from having impure thoughts about her! As if I ever would! Uzuki told me his name was Tsubute and he was her caretaker.- had to get a pic somewhere else this time:
He said he was only looking out for her best interests, and Uzuki told me to tell her if I found any clues about the man.
I then went to Lute who showed me the price for the forge I wanted, 2,000, yikes! Hopefully the turnips would be enough!
In order to kill time, I went to the lake and on my way there found Cinnamon who told me there seemed to be ruins of an old laboratory in the mountain, though they were inaccessible as is. Kanno, who was there, told me that he was out of experimenting equipment and asked me to go get him a sharp talon. I was going to refuse, but he told me to be a good student and shut up and do it. The nerve! Though he did give me a fire staff...
At the lake Stella told me that Lara was really helping out at the church, and after sailing around for a bit, I returned to the business district where I took a bath. After the bath Melody told me the hot spring water could heal by bathing or drinking, but she wished it had a more exciting effect. I then went to the business district and fished a bit as I waited for Rosetta to pick up my crops. Once she did, I bought the equipment from Lute and ran off home to see what was needed. Iron. Great, without Lagga I had nowhere to get iron...except...
I scavenged around the Green Ruins until I found the iron I needed then ran home, very tired at this point. I then got to work, making an iron hammer which would let me break larger stones, and then I made a chopping ax so I could take care of those tree stumps...unfortunately I passed out from exhaustion and Lara had to resuscitate me. I awoke with another cold so I got her to cure it before writing this journal...after all, it's Monday now...
I'm gonna skip tomorrow and the extra update I promised so that Monday I can resynchronize the irl and in game calendars :V
also having a cold triples the amount of energy used to do a task, and making that ax took out all of my hp, I did not expect that :V
(HP is used when RP runs out. RP is your stamina so working beyond your limits does in fact hurt you ;0;)

Re: Rune Factory Frontier Journal! - Spring 30
- Spring 14:
- Tired and hurt, I decided to make a tin can first thing in the morning cause I don't learn from my mistakes!
I then went outside and put my new tools to work, tearing a tree stump apart, and watering much faster than ever using some flashy moves. Once that was done, I planted more feed and got roamed around a bit. I found Marco and Candy at the pond near Mist's house and Marco told me he thought the pond was connected to the monster's homeland so he'd stand guard and be ready to defend from the invasion. I smiled at him and ran into Kanno at the clock tower who reminded me that I had yet to find a sharp talon...oops.
I ran towards the Green Ruins but found Cinnamon who told me about constellations and how I could see plenty in the area. She said she'd help me find them, and explain what they meant when I found one, sounds fun! In the Green Ruins I fought some ants and squirrels...and got a sharp fang...crud.
Exhausted I went back to town and I found a new store next to Danny's. It looked so large and full of life I went inside.- Spoiler:
I was confused as to what was going on, and Rosetta explained to me that this was her new home, and shop. I looked around, and man where there lots of things. I also found Eunice who told me she loved cleaning, laundry, and cooking, since it was all fun.
I visited the inn then, and stumbled into Uzuki's room. It had a very japanese feel to it, perhaps that was where she was from? I asked her who she was looking for, and she said it was her elder brother who had left home to train yet never returned. I promised I'd let her know if I found anything. I then found Rita, who asked if I cooked much. I told her I wasn't a good cook, and she gave me a cook book so I could learn some more recipes.
I then went to the bathhouse, and then Laga, ready to find a sharp talon, and perhaps get stronger so that griffon wouldn't be able to stop me. I'm sure I saw something in its nest...
I mowed down goblins, but found a buffalo, or was it a cow? I tried to fight it, but my blade only seemed to tickle it so I took out my staff and blasted it with fireballs, and was forced to run as it continued to stand. I then saw her again, the girl in white, watering flowers before entering the tower. I tried to get inside, to no avail. I stared at the bright moonlight before heading home to sleep. Had to make sure I didn't get a cold any time soon.
Reason I got the better tools was cause 1) they're better :V
and 2) they have special moves which do neat things: can lets me water 3 times as fast, ax can end stumps, and hammer can break medium rocks!

- Spring 15:
- Up and at em early in the morning and Annette described my attitude. "Early bird gets the worm" Though she insists she never got a worm. I then tended to my fields before running around town. I found Lara at church and she told me to be careful on Lagga, and then found Cinnamon at the Clock Tower.
She told me that she used to do research at a magic laboratory until Kanno called her and Candy here. From there I continued to run around until I found Uzuki training, and tried to talk to her. She insisted that I let her train so I sat back and watched. I then went into Materia where Rosetta told me about Moondrops, a flower which grew especially beautiful in areas with strong moonlight. She then casually mentioned that she sells the seeds. Such a great salesman huh? I had to buy some to see how they'd grow!
I then went to Erik's and bought some more monster feed seeds and planted some. From there I went to the bathhouse as the day was just flying by. There I found Cinnamon who told me she once went to see flowers with her sister and enjoyed it, and was considering going again.
I then went home and made an iron sickle, and smiled at how great it came out. I then grabbed Wally, and went to Lagga where I battled a few cows by blasting them with fireballs, and then I saw the bright moonlight. I figured this would be a perfect spot so I planted the moondrops and watered them, before the howl of a wolf got my attention. I attacked it, and managed to take it down, albeit taking some damage in the process. I felt like pushing on but remembered Lara's warning and went back home, heading to bed around midnight?! Wow, the day really flew by!

Re: Rune Factory Frontier Journal! - Spring 30
- Spring 16:
- I woke up to a rainy day, yay no watering! Instead I used my energy to clear some more land so I could plant more monster feed. After that I got my mail from Annette. We spoke a bit, and she told me that my house had been empty for so long, and she had thought it was a waste considering how large the field was. She then asked me to take good care of it. I'll do my best!
As I read the mail I dropped my breakfast. It was from Danny and he needed help! He said his shop was in trouble and would have to close if he didn't do something soon! So I told him to try lowering his prices, that should help right?
I also got a letter from Uzuki saying that she loves the place, and things highly of us considering Turner renovated her room to make it all japanesque. I then went to the Clock Tower and talked with Cinnamon who told me that the Serpent Constellation was visible now! She said I might have to stay up to see it though, I should remember to seek it out...
She also told me that apparently some cultures things serpents can control the weather!
From there I went to the church where I found Rosetta and spoke with her some. As we spoke, she then said I had a nice body! She turned red and began to panic as she shouted about how she didn't mean it that way and not to misunderstand her! Man, farm work must be doing wonders for my bod.
I then got to work on Kanno's request, and went into the Green Ruins with Wally and found a chicken. I attacked it, and after a long battle (I am serious, the battle was rough, I nearly died) I managed to kill it and take the sharp talon! I gave it to Kanno...and he told me to go get a hard horn...
I went to the library and bought a book from Selphy on weapons, then went home. I had to be prepared for this. At home I found Mist inside, and she told me that she was just making herself at home. I ignored her and upgraded my broadsword into a Scimitar! From there I went to Lagga (after a bath of course) and wondered how Mist got into my house.
Once on Lagga I found where the cow, buffalo, things were and attacked, using my blade and fireballs, and with Wally's help, managed to defeat it and take its horn! While resting up I watered the Moondrops and then walked around....and got tackled by a wolf. Oops, should have watched my back.
I awoke at Lara's, and ran home, welp, time for a rough day huh?

- Spring 17:
- Time to work! A lot! Didn't notice how many crops I had now, mostly monster feed. Wally sure has an all you can eat buffet huh? I watered and harvested, tossing some turnips in the shipping bin before heading out. I found Kanno at the library and gave him the hard horn, and you know what he said? He said I could go now! No staff, no gift, not even a thanks!
I spent the day just talking to people, but the only one who said something interesting was Cinnamon. She told me that the Turnip and Crown constellations were visible tonight! So I took a bath and waited for nightfall. The first constellation I saw was the Turnip Constellation, and as I stared at it, I saw something shoot across the sky...and crash into my house!? I ran there and went inside, only to see the floor littered with turnips. Just then Mist ran in and asked if I was okay. I told her I was fine and then she noticed the turnips and said I must really love turnips, and that she's glad we share the same interests!
I went back to the observatory (which was just a hill, seriously, why name it?) and saw the Serpent Constellation. I reported back to Cinnamon who told me the Turnip Constellation had a legend that a hero ate the turnip before fighting a catfish underground. Sounded like something Mist would make up. She then told me how the Serpent Constellation usually brought a good harvest, and that I should take care of serpents, as they aren't bad creatures.
From there I went onto Lagga and watered the Moondrops, they looked almost ready to bloom! I then beat up some monsters, but ran home when a wolf arrived. On my way home, I saw the Crown Constellation and smiled at the thought of having something more to report to Cinnamon.
