Emoticon Suggestion Thread

Got the idea to post this right after posting the poll.

So, do you have an emoticon that you like and would like to see here? Post it! We may add it if enough people like it.

Tired of seeing one of our emoticons pop up constantly in a thread, or just feel like it's unnecessary? Tell us about it, and we'll see what everyone else thinks!

If you have any other suggestions, such as changing what code to use for an emoticon, where it is on the list, or anything else, feel free to post them!

In conjunction with the talk about the DMG smilie, I've been thinking of doing a bit of cleanup on our emoticons.

Considered For Removal:

Considered For Addition:


Let me know what you guys think about these changes. In addition, now would be a good time to suggest new emoticons, the removal of old emoticons, and/or moving emoticons between categories.

For some clarification, I suggested the first two for removal because they really do look rather weird. I was thinking one of the crying emotes suggested for addition could replace them. I'm partial to this: But everyone else seems to be partial to this: , so you guys decide on that one.

The third one for removal can pretty much only be used against another user, which I'm not a fan of.

DMG I don't mind, but given the vitriol towards it, it's really up to you guys :B

The lightbulb no one ever uses.

You could also use it in an LP (the hammer emote). But it's part of SA's emotes, so I don't really care if it's removed.

I put the eagle in there as a present expecting you guys to find it by the end of the day, but I guess no one uses the panel to add emoticons :V

Aside from that, I always try to post whenever I add new emoticons, so I don't think there's any that you guys don't know about :B

I do use the panel, but I can't remember if I was even on on the 4th of July. It's actually quite hilarious none of us had noticed it for this long! XD

Given the brazenly patriotic imagery, I can't really see how it'd be a sad thing.

Could be referring to a growing lack of faith in our government. National Debt continues to rocket towards the moon and beyond, apparently police brutality is on the rise (at least in reported cases anyway), Congress is for the most part filled with incompetent lazy asses, out-of-the-blue domestic terrorism is now a reality again, and the President had to be forced (by some of the few competent congressmen left) to issue an order to put the flag at half staff for those unfortunate marines who were killed recently.

I'm fairly certain that's reading too much into an emoticon. It's probably supposed to be used more for pictures of excessively large cheeseburgers or something. :B

In any case, we don't really need it anymore, so we can probably get rid of it.

Agree with :banhammer: being removed, but maybe we could replace it with a new banhammer emoticon (though, I guess   kind of works for that)?

Any particular reason we need a banhammer emoticon? Not saying we shouldn't, I just can't think of any positive uses for it.

Not really, except for just having a banhammer handy for fun. But yeah, not necessary to have one.

:flowers: :thanks: Not necessarily all of these, but we do have a few too many of these imo, and a couple seem a bit repetitive.

Second and fourth could probably be removed, IMO.
