Re: [Blind] Legend of Zelda: Oracles (Part 7—Beware the Forest's Bunnies!)
the oracle games were essentially choose your own waifu games where you pick between the two main waifu :V
also the reasons one is more puzzles while the other action is because Nayru is the name of the goddess of wisdom in zelda lore so the game with her is the one that needs more smarts :D
also in oracle of seasons, I feel I do not have to spoiler this part as it gives nothing away you wouldn't find out in the first five minutes of playing (unless you were really awful) and given you have the banner which includes oracle of seasons characters, but I digress. The oracle in that game is named Din, the same name as the goddess of power, thus her game has more action as you need power :B
That might explain why the third one was canned as the oracle for that one would be named Farore, the goddess of courage so the game would have to be full of nightmare fuel right?
anyway I played seasons and never tried ages so this'll be fun :D
and now fan art of nayru!

Actually...
- how Farore fits in, taken directly from the zelda wiki :
- . ...oh my freaking goodness, I hate copy and paste on the freaking phone. Have the link to The wiki page about her. It is short and covers what I wanted to say.

[Blind] Legend of Zelda: Oracles (Part 2—Forward to the Past!)
Update!
- Part 2:
Hey guys, welcome back to my blind LP of Legend of Zelda: Oracles! This time around, we will be exploring town a bit and then visiting the Maku Tree, per Impa's suggestion! So, without further ado, let's begin.
Okay, so this guy is saying this is Lynna City, whereas Impa said it was Lynna Village. @_@
Let's head into the shop.
Welcome, sir! Bring me any item you wish to purchase.
I only have one rupee...
I can't afford no hearts nor shields in this economy!
This sign is pointing to the Maku Tree.
But we're not going that way yet cuz we're a WICKED PUNK REBEL!
That water looks bad to fall in.
Let's see what this guy has to say!
Lately folk have been vanishin' and turnin' to stone without warnin'.
What's happenin'?
I don't know, but it's seemin' somebody's been goin' overboard with writin' this guy's droppin' of his G's.
Let's 'et 'oin' into this house over here.
Let's talk to Rudolph over here with his red nose.
I am Plen, the mayor here in Lynna City.
No, you're not! You're Rudolph! D:
Lynna has a long history reaching back hundreds of years.
Back then, it was Lynna Village--not a city.
Ohhhh, okay, so I guess the past is Village and the present is City.
...But then why did Impa refer to it as a Village?
Also, duh, Lynna Village wasn't a city. No, I totally thought it was the city of Lynna Village.
MORTAL—ENEMY—POTTERY—MUST—BREAK—MUST—BREAK—MUST—
Unfortunately, it seems we can't break the pottery yet...
And it seems we can't get that treasure yet either. Bummer.
Let's head off to the left side of the screen here.
So what kinda candy's never on time???
Choco-late!
Isn't that a sweet joke!
...
LET'S NEVER GO THERE AGAIN.
Oo, hey, this looks pretty important.
...Luigi???
Do come in!
I am Vasu, the jeweler.
Whatever you say, Luigi.
Is this your first time?
Then let me explain jewelry.
You know, all this time, I thought I had the hang of it.
Rings made from Mystical Seeds have very mystical powers.
When did our highlight color become red?
If you wear one, its mystical power will be passed to you. But you must keep it in your Ring Box.
The mystical power will gradually weaken and you won't be able to use it.
Understood?
I'm not quite sure I follow, but I'll pretend I did!
> Yes
No
Oh! You don't have a Ring Box?
Um.
I like you, so here! Take this Ring Box.
I HAVEN'T SAID ANYTHING WHY DO YOU LIKE ME ALREADY HOW DID YOU KNOW I DIDN'T HAVE A RING BOX
OKAY, I GUESS WE'RE GETTING A RING BOX GUYS!
It can hold one ring!
Laaaaame.
Take this ring as a sign of our friendship.
I JUST MET YOU
Get it appraised later!
Until you've had a ring appraised and its power revealed, you cannot wear it.
Let's appraise it!
Gee, I wonder.
Appraise this?
> Yes
No
Hmm... I see! I call this the Friendship Ring!- image:
Symbol of a meeting
So it's useless?
Yeah, it's useless.
I'll appraise it for free this time, but after this, it will be 20 Rupees per ring.
Luigi's a cheapskate e_e
If you get two of the same ring, I'll buy one for 30 Rupees.
That's not a bad tradeoff, I guess.
Now, the List!
Appraised rings get added to the List.
When you want a ring, move it from your List to your box.
Talk to me to see your List.
Let's take a peek at it now.
Rings do nothing unless worn!
Well, I guess we should check out these books.
OH MY GOD THE JAR HAS A FACE
Oh, it's just a snake.
Well, Link's lucky. He was only named after his hat. Can you imagine being named after your color and species?
I am Blue Snake.
I give ring fortunes.
Would you like a ring fortune?
Uhhh... sure. Sounds useful. I guess.
> Yes
No
Fine...
Use a Game Link cable to connect to another Game Boy Color.
...Oh.
Now check to see if your friend is ready.
No no no no no no no. How do I not do this?
OK! Now for your fortune!
NO STOP DON'T
On "Start," I'll go see your friend. On "Ready," you both choose.
NEITHER. I WANT NEITHER. NO
Ready
Start!
Ummmm. I have to choose Start. It doesn't let me quit or choose Ready.
Well, here goes nothing.
Ready
> Start
...
He's just gonna stay down there forever, isn't he.
Oh thank God.
I got stuck along the way.
Is your cable connected?
Please check it, then try again!
No thank you.
Now let's read the book. :B
"Ring Link Basics"
> Read
Don't
Pick a topic.
Fortune
Link
Quit
Ehhh none of this is really relevant to us right now.
Fortune
Link
> Quit
One snake, two snake, red snake, blue snake!
I am Red Snake.
And you want to ask about rings?
> Yes
No
Appraisal or Ring Boxes...
Which one?
Aaaaaand he just regurgitates the information we learned from Luigi.
This sounds interesting.
"All About Ring Secrets"
> Read
Don't
If you save the secret the Red Snake told you in an Oracle of Seasons game you played, and tell it to the Red Snake here, you can bring rings found in your Oracle of Seasons game here. In the same way, you can take rings from here to your Oracle of Seasons here.
Good news! With a Game Link cable and two Game Boy Color systems, you can bring rings here without saving your secret!
-NOTE!!-
If you haven't finished your quest or used a secret to visit Labrynna, your ring secret will not work.
...This honestly sounds overly complex and like something that I will not use very often, if at all.
LET'S HEAD TO THE MAKU TREE!
By the way, that blue hourglass thing flies across the screen whenever you exit a building. I'm fairly certain it's supposed to tell you what time period you're in.
Hey, this place looks important!
Let's talk to this guy.
The Maku Tree stands at the far end of this cave.
Why the cave? Can't we just go up here to this... bridge...?
Ah. It's a gate.
Well, thanks for the directions, guy! His name is Guy.
For some reason, the music in here reminds me of the park music from OFF. Even though it really sounds nothing like it.
...Is there nothing in this room?
Huh. Really nothing. Oh well, moving on!
This room looks interesting.
Hey! That's my middle name! :D
Wow. What a waste of space.
...Please tell me we can at least move that rock.
Aaaaaand pushing it just makes Link's face green. At least it's not blue.
Oh well. Moving on!
Geez. The way this room is set up, it looks like a boss room.
WHY CAN'T WE JUST GO DOWN THE CORRIDOR. D:<
I'm pretty sure there's points in the game where you can push around blocks like this, but this doesn't seem to be one of them.
More useless, blocked-up stuff. Guess this is just a completely empty tunnel with nothing of interest in it. Oh well.
ONWARDS AND UPWARDS!
This must be the Maku Tree!
Uh... why is the area flooded?
Pleased to meet you, young hero.
I am the Maku Tree, guardian of Labrynna.
Veran, Sorceress of Shadows, has taken Nayru, the Oracle of Ages.
She's disrupting the flow of time from the past. She's trying to flood this world with the power of sorrow.
We cannot give in to one of impure heart.
You must stop Veran--and soon--but to stop her, you'll need something...
Something...?
Uh-oh. Flashing lights. Not good.
I feel so weird. I'm vanishing!
Something must be happening to me in the past!
Help!
...Oh.
The Maku Tree?
This is more of Veran's work!
...Hang on. How do you know about the Maku Tree? If she truly vanished, then she never existed in this era, and thus you never would've known she existed at all.
Dern time-travel shenanigans!
Cap! You made it! Veran just leapt through this Time Portal!
If we go back in time, we should be able to save Nayru and the Maku Tree!
I'm coming, Nayru!
...Does this guy ever say a single sentence in this game that doesn't have Nayru in it?
Oh, well. PROTAGONIST DRIVE ACTIVATE!
LET US CONTINUE WITH THESE INCREDIBLY INADVISABLE TIME SHENANIGANS!
I think this is a good place to stop. Next time around, we will be traveling into the past to investigate what happened to the Maku Tree! See you guys then.

Also for whatever reason you can't break pots with your sword in any of the Game Boy Color games.

[Blind] Legend of Zelda: Oracles (Part 3—The Tower of Babble!)
Update!
I actually recorded these next two episodes together to save time. So yeah. :B
Sorry this one's being posted a bit late in the day; due to my wonky schedule, I'm recording and posting on the same day. Usually I take one day to play and take screenshots, one day to transcribe dialogue and write the actual post, and then post it the day after that.

- part 3:
Hey guys, welcome back to my blind LP of Legend of Zelda: Oracles! Last time around, we explored town a bit, became BEST FRIENDS FOREVER with Luigi, and witnessed the Maku Tree become retroactively non-existent in the present!
In this update, we will be exploring the past in Lynna Village! But first I must check a thing.
Looks like we can't go over here yet...
Oh well. Thing checked! Let's move on!
Let's talk to hamburger lips over here.
They look like a happy family.
I wish I could join them...- thing:
Now to talk to the kid!
OK! Faster this time!
I'll throw it, so catch it, Dad!!!
And now for the dad.
The village has it hard with the construction of Queen Ambi's tower, but ya still gotta spend time with the kids.
Hey! Nice one!
Queen Ambi's tower? Sounds ominously plot-relevant.
I apologize for this slight digression, but
LAWN MOWING LAWN MOWING LAWN MOWING
SHINY SHINY SHINY!
Yaaay! Five rupees!
Remember kids: Shiny. Is. Good.
And so are references.
ANYWAY!
This place doesn't look quite as cheerful as Lynna City...
The Maku Tree is a talking tree!
But lately she's been bothered by monsters...
...Is that how hair works?
Oh well. Seems we just learned what caused... will cause... did cause... will did eventually in the future right now caused the Maku Tree to disappear!
And I just noticed... Maku Path is blocked off...
This is Lynna Village...
Hwahhhh!
Oh! Excuse me!
We haven't had any nights for a few days now.
...Wut.
The village has been full of rubble ever since work started on that tower!
You can't get anywhere without a Shovel to clear a path!
Right, so time's stopped, the Maku Tree is being attacked by monsters, some giant tower's being built, which somehow causes the ground around town to become dirty, and now our next plot device to get is the shovel, which we need to clear the dirt so we can move around.
...Hey, if time's stopped, how come everyone is still moving around?
Santa Claus!
The village is full of excess dirt from the tower.
There's no room to walk, and any tools we could use to clear a path are being used for construction.
I want a toy train, and a bike, and a laser gun, and a giraffe, and a...
Nevermind Santa, let's go to that open house on the left!
MARIO????
Need some target practice?
It's only 10 Rupees!
Yes
No
...
I HAVE 9.
THANKS, MARIO. THANKS A LOT.
May your princess forever be in another castle.
Yes
> No
Suit yourself...
I don't think we'd have been able to do that anyway. Sounds like you need a ranged weapon :V
This door's locked.
MY PLOT-RELEVANT SENSES ARE TINGLING! @A@
Queen Ambi had a boyfriend--a seafaring man.
But he set sail one day and never came back.
She's building a tall tower so she can search the lands for any sign of his return.
It's called Ambi's Tower.
It was a touching tale...
Was?
This isn't good!
I want to deliver the mail on time, but I can't do it if I don't know the time!- image:
Over here looks important!
Queen Ambi is busy! She's in no mood for any who come empty-handed!
Bring her a rare item in tribute if you wish to see her.
...But apparently not yet
House!
Oh. Um.
Hi?
Darn Gasha Seeds!
Sproutin'! Growin'! Makin' nuts!
...
And all those new nuts got different stuff inside!
.............
Hah! Get rid of it for me!
WELP WE'RE GETTING HIS SEED GUYS
Plant it in soft soil!
I know there's soil right by my house, but don't go plantin' seeds there!
I swear, this guy must be the ancestor of the guy who was dropping all his G's last update.
Well, let's leave this Pianta guy's house... which has a... patch of dirt... in the middle... AND HEAD OUTSIDE WHERE THINGS MAKE SENSE!
That little roped-off section of ground over there must be where we plant the seed.
Um.
Why is this house halfway buried in the mountainside?
Ah.
WOW! THIS LOOKS PRETTY HEAVY! YOU WON'T BE ABLE TO LIFT THIS WITH JUST YOUR BARE HANDS!
Hhhhh... at least this game seems less unrelenting with how often that text box pops up. In Link's Awakening, it did it every single time you so much as touched something which you could lift later in the game. Here, you actually have to check it with the A button, and it only does that once for each time you enter a room.
Well looks like there's nothing heREOH SWEET MOTHER OF JESUS
WHAT IS THAT
wHAT THE HECKADOODLE IS THAT
P-paper! Do you have any paper?
Uh, no we don't, Scary Disembodied Hand Thing. Please go away.
NOW LET'S NEVER GO IN THERE AGAIN.
Unless, of course, we eventually find a piece of paper and it turns out that that thing is just one part of a giant fetch quest or something and it actually turns out to have a really good outcome. In which case, I will engage in shady dealings with the Scary Disembodied Hand Thing.
But until then, NEVER AGAIN.
That place looks important! Let's not go there yet in case there's another important thing nearby.
Is this another important thing nearby?? :o
Oooo this looks like another important thing nearby
I am Adlar.
For fifty years, I was a palace advisor, but I have since been chased from the palace and am now retired.
I have known the Queen since she was young.
She always held the people foremost in her heart.
But since she took that girl Nayru in, she has changed completely...
She quit listening to my advice...
It was that girl who suggested I be banished, but...
Just who is this Nayru...?
I can only see her as a monster in human guise.
I wonder if the Queen is alright...
Thanks for the information Mr. Cucumber Grandpa!
ONWARDS!
Ahh ominous beepy scary organ music
Why build such a huge thing...?
It's just work, work, work!
And you're just a minor miner.
HEEEEEEEEEART PIEEEEEEEEEEECE
For some reason these construction dudes remind me of the Elsen from OFF.
This is the entry to the tower being built to the heavens by the order of Queen Ambi.
Uhm... You're in the Time Reservoir of Lynna, the southern part of zone 1.
Our work consists of towering bricks on top of one another and extracting the pure time energy contained within, so that we have enough time to complete the tower.
...Okay, no, not really. :I
At first, this tower was being built to guide Queen Ambi's love safely back from the sea.
But ever since Nayru came, the sun sits high in the sky as if time itself has stopped.
It's not like Queen Ambi to push us so hard.
In the village, they've started calling it the Black Tower.
One thing I've learned from video games: anything named "the Black Tower" means absolute trouble. :B
You can look around, but the construction has some areas closed.
If you hang around too much, though, you might get yelled at.
And I might not get my sugar rations.
ONWARD!
We must finish the tower for Ambi as quickly as possible!
Cool.
It's been awful ever since that Nayru girl appeared.
Now we have to work hours on end!
Well, seeing as you haven't made any visible progress since I arrived in this place, I think the blame's all on you.
This here, that there...
No! That goes here!
No sleep...
My son's home alone... It's no use.
What a horrible queen!
(But don't tell anyone!)
Well, you just told me.
Let's talk to the other guy.
This here, that there...
No! That goes here!
No sleep...
My son's home alone... It's no use.
What a horrible queen!
(But don't tell anyone!)
...
HE LITERALLY HAD THE EXACT SAME THING TO SAY.
HOW DID YOU KNOW WHAT THAT OTHER GUY WAS THINKING.
HOW
It's been awful ever since that Nayru girl appeared.
Now we have to work hours on end!
Aaaaand they just babble on with their nonsense.
You see what I did there? Do you recognize the three-fold pun contained in that sentence? On its surface, that pun is simply an observance on the fact that these people just seem to repeat banal statements on the nature of their current situation, but in fact, it was also at once a biblical reference and a historical reference.
You see, "babble on" sounds exactly like "Babylon," the ancient city of the great Mesopotamian civilization, which, as I'm sure you remember from your ancient history classes, was the cradle of civilization. The first documented civilization! Much like Lynna, it was nestled between two rivers (the Tigris and the Euphrates). Unlike Lynna, I know for a fact that it was nestled in between two rivers, whereas with the aforementioned Lynna I only have a base conjecture on that particular fact. You see, I know there is at least one river surrounding Lynna, but whether the other body of water that I saw, down by where I was mowing the lawn at the beginning of this update (but didn't screenshot), is a separate river, I cannot determine. But regardless, take it for the purpose of this pun that there are two rivers in Labrynna with Lynna nestled in between them.
But here's the really clever bit: the biblical reference? We are in a tower. And people are babbling. We are in the Tower of Babble, actually known as the Tower of Babel, the biblical site where mankind attempted to reach the heavens through means of an incredibly tall tower, which so offended God that he turned mankind's one language into many, so that they could not work together and the tower never got finished. Anytime you see an evil character building a giant tower in fiction? Probably a reference to this. In fact, I'm almost certain that the Black Tower in this game is indeed a reference to that very tower. In fact, that Elsen dude who let us in even referred to it as a tower being built to the heavens. And all of this from a single pun that I have made to you, and proceeded to dissect the hell out of.
Deep shit, man. Deep shit.
Now back to your regularly scheduled programming.
Now, where was I? Ah, yes, exploring the Black Tower.
Busy, busy, busy! If I don't hurry, the guards will come check on me!
Cool.
Ohh! How long have I worked???
Night never comes, so I can't tell.
I want to go home.
Let's talk to the other guy.
Ohh! How long have I worked???
Night never comes, so I can't tell.
I want to go home.
SAY SOMETHING NEW.
What, kid?!? Did you come to help us build?
No, actually, I came because it seemed kinda plot-relevant. :B
Ohh! How long have I worked???
Night never comes, so I can't tell.
I want to go home.
WELCOME TO CORNERIA! WELCOME TO CORNERIA! WELCOME TO CORNERIA! WELCOME TO
Okay, skipping all the repeated dialogue from now on, I think I extracted all the humor out of it I could. :B
We're supposed to finish tomorrow, but we're way behind schedule!
I'll say. You haven't even made it very far past the tree line, from the image I saw.
We'll never make it!
Well, don't worry, guy, you've got all the time in the world. :B
Huh? A diggin' tool?
That's the spirit, sonny!
Here! You can have this Shovel!
Can you use the Shovel to move that dirt outta the way?
Woohoo!
Now start digging!
We're workin' hard on this tower! Help us out!
And in two seconds, we've now done more work than any of these guys have since we got here.
I got that for ya, guy!
Look at 'em. Still working the day away. Bless.
If you walk over here, a guy just tells you the tower isn't finished yet, so you can't go further, which is a perfectly acceptable way of keeping the hero from exploring any further.
These guys are so slow, they're working in reverse! Putting back the dirt that I had just cleared for them.
Let's move outta here, kids!
HEART PIECE HEART PIECE HEART PIECE
AHHHH SNAKE BIG SNAKE VERY BIG SNAKE DO NOT WANT!
Do NOT want! Thank you.
I got hurts ;-;
At least he was kind enough to leave his heart behind for us to eat.
Not that, um. That would be much use. I dunno, does the Piece of Heart restore HP?
Guess we won't find out, because I ate the snake's heart first. :B
YOU GOT A PURE HEEEEART!
I mean. Um.
You got a Piece of Heart!
Collect four in all to get an extra Heart Container!
Check them on the Item Screen.
Anyway, that was very neat! Very neat indeed.
And now that we've got the shovel, I think we're going to end things off here. Next time around, we're going to be using the shovel to open up Maku Path, and hopefully rescuing the Maku Tree! See you guys then.
And see how much money I got from destroying the land? A lot. A lot more than mowing the lawn, anyway.
REMEMBER KIDS: DESTROYING THE EARTH PAYS BETTER THAN TAKING CARE OF IT.
Alrighty, see you guys next time. :B

[Blind] Legend of Zelda: Oracles (Part 4—Holy Matreemony!)
Update!
- part 4:
Hey guys, welcome back to my blind LP of Legend of Zelda: Oracles! Last time around, we explored the past in Lynna Village, met a creepy disembodied hand, and turned the land upside-down with our newly-acquired shovel!
In this update, we will be using said shovel to clear the path to rescue the Maku Tree! But first I must plant this seed, because that is more important than saving our friend. And it totally redeems me for being mean to the ground in the last update.
You can plant a Gasha Seed.
> Plant
Don't
Not completely sure what that does, but I guess we'll find out later!
I don't think we've gone in this house yet.
When you step inside, it's all bright and happy!
But take another step forward and it becomes all dark and sad...
Say, what's this kid doing in here all by himself?
Hah... Only the darkness can ease my heart.
I guess laughing my troubles away is just a dream deferred...
Okaaaaaaay walking away now.
I LIKE SHOVELING.
No more happy park music...
Oooo this room looks different :O
As you can see, the door is locked up there...
...But if we push this block into the middle, it opens up!
Ah. Hello there, ye bats.
Push this block sideways. Pushing it forward will cause it to stop after one space, leaving you trapped unless you leave the room and come back. :V
I'm very sorry, Mr. Bat, but I really can't do with having you in here. It's very distracting.
At least he paid me for my troubles.
And hey! There's an open pathway over there now!
And a locked door over here...
Let's head through the open path!As if that wasn't the obvious place to go!
AHHHH BLOBS
If you run into the little blobular things, they attach to you, kinda like those Mini-Goombas from Super Mario Bros 3. Just spin around to shake 'em off.
And for killing all of them, the door opens!
Oh boy... a ledge maze...
I SEE A BUTTON AND SPEAKING AS A HERO I QUITE FRANKLY MUST PRESS IT
I PRESS IT WITH MY FEET AND a treasure chest appears on the other side of the ledge. GREAT.
As you can tell from my health meter I am none too good at navigating ledge puzzles. :V
Use it to open a locked door or block in this dungeon.
I think we know where that's getting used!
Check the door, and the key just sort of... floats in the air... and somehow that... unlocks it...
This is no time for questions! MOVING ON!
BUTTON BUTTON BUTTON BUTTON
PRESS PRESS PRESS PRESS
By the way, those block puzzles only allow you to push certain blocks, in a certain direction, for a certain amount of spaces. You could try pushing a block from one direction and it won't work, but the other direction does.
Hang on...
I am suspicious of this symmetry. I MUST INVESTIGATE.
Looks like that suspicion paid off!
Um.
RANDOM SIDE-SCROLLING ACTION GET!
That's nice.
Sure it is. ANYWAY! Aside from being rich, we must complete our mission!
I have to press the button again...
HEART HEART HEART
ENEMIES ENEMIES ENEMIES
I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO FEEL ;A;
Not only am I rich, but now I have nutrition in the form of a tasty heart!
Looks like that Piece of Heart did indeed heal me! Nice to know.
Also, for whatever reason, moving this block down one space opens the door. Kinda odd.
Hey! This looks like the exit room! :O
It is indeed! ONWARDS TO PROTAGONISM!
Uh-oh.
Bwee! This is the guy Veran was talking about!
Get 'im!
Actually, I think it's been fairly well established that the Maku Tree is a girl. Just sayin'. :B
No! Noooo! LEAVE ME ALONE!
What's with you? Keep clear!
TOO LATE.
Wow! You were so daring and cool!
Th-thank you!
Who are you?
Cap! What a nice name. Were you named after that totally rad hat you're wearing?
I said literally nothing. How do you know what my name is.
I'm the Maku Tree.
Actually, you look more like a vase with a flower in it to me. :B
You were brave!
They said the Oracle of Ages convinced Queen Ambi to build a Black Tower...
Maybe she made them attack me.
...You didn't guess from the fact that two clearly evil monsters who intended to fight you literally just name-dropped her as their employer?
Thank you for rescuing me!
I will never, ever forget it!
And I promise I'll repay you when I grow up!
This is about all I can do... Ah-hah!
She takes down the gate for us, which I guess is kinda cool. :V
Remember... I will repay you when I grow up!
Be sure to come see me.
And as we walk away...
Dear!
...Umm...
...Ahh...
When I grow up, I'm going to be your bride!
Ahh! I said it!
...
RUUUN AWAAAAAAAAAY
RUN VERY VERY FAR AWAY VERY MUCH TIME AWAY
PHEW MADE IT
I like how when we needed to escape, there was miraculously a time portal right there. Just for no reason other than we're the protagonist and we need convenience, so of course there's going to be a teleport there, goshdarnit.
And I also like how completely oblivious this guy was to a green man beaming out of the sky in front of him.
pleasedon'tremembermepleasedon'tremembermepleasedon't
Uhhn... It's weird... It all seems so foggy, I'm forgetting so much...
...Oh!?!
You... You're...
Cap!
Cap!
Goddamnit.
Why are you here now? I've been waiting so long for you.
Don't you remember? Hundreds of years ago?
Hundreds? I would've put it around eighty. :V
Cap, you promised!
No I didn't. What.
"When I grow up, I'll marry you!"
That's what you said, Cap.
NO. STAHP. GO AWAY. WHY DOES EVERYONE THINK I'M SUDDENLY THEIR BEST FRIEND WHEN I TALKED TO THEM EXACTLY ONCE
Four hundred years I waited.
But...
I knew you wouldn't forget about me.
Our hearts are bound across time by a thread of...
LIES!!! A THREAD OF LIES!! THAT'S WHAT IT IS!
...I think this is a good point to mention that I kinda really find the whole "Link is being crushed on by a four hundred year old tree" thing legitimately disturbing
What? That's not why you're here?
Why won't you listen to me?
Fine! You want to talk about Veran, right?
Maybe Veran is using Queen Ambi to raise the tower to the heavens.
"If one of impure heart gains the powers of shadow...
...this world will be covered in darkness."
That's what this is about.
Who said that. That is literally the vaguest prophecy I've ever heard. It could apply to someone who stole an umbrella. And used it to block people's reading lights.
To know the past is to know the present.
Veran can do as she pleases if she finds dark power in the past.
All will go dark!
I HAVE A READING ASSIGNMENT DUE BY THE END OF THE SUMMER I CAN'T HAVE THAT HAPPEN
Cap! You must stop Veran and save Nayru!
Must I say it again?
Yes
> No
I don't recall, but I think you need the eight Essences of Time hidden in Labrynna to beat Veran!
The essences hold the power to see the truth, and they hold my memory!
You won't beat Veran if you can't see the truth!
Uh... okay?
With the flow of time disrupted, my memory is fading...
What will we do? I'm at a loss...
But if you find the essences, I'll remember everything!
And you'll be able to stop Veran!!!
Please do this, Cap!
First, I want you to go to Yoll Graveyard in the east.
I hear the first essence there.
(Uh... not sure if she can actually hear them, or if that's just a typo and she meant to say, "I hear that the first essence is there. )
I can't do much, but take this.
The Ember Seeds in this Seed Satchel will offer light in dark places and burn small trees from your path.
And it has 20 Ember Seeds!
Cool! :D
Well, seems she doesn't have anything more to say, so uh...
Let's check out this... door...?
Ah.
FELLOW GREEN PERSON
Welcome, Cap.
I am Farore, Oracle of Secrets.
This is the Hall of Secrets, where your secrets take form.
At times and places, you will hear powerful secrets.
At those times, come see me.
I can give shape and form to your secrets!
Alrighty, sounds like a cool mechanic that I still have 0% of a clue about what it does. :B
Guess I'll figure that out when I get to it, though. I'd prefer to stumble across it if I can.
Also, the way she's hiding inside the Maku Tree here and the way she's all green and everything makes me think that she's, like, the actual Maku Tree. Like, the Maku Tree is the shell, and she's the human trapped inside by some mystical force, controlling it. Except the difference is I kinda like Farore but I do not like the Maku Tree. I dunno. Ignore me. :B
ONWARD!
Oh, hey, looks like we get to climb on top of the tree.
GRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASS
Time to give the Maku Tree a haircut!
You can... dig a hole... in her... head...
...
SORRY NOT SORRY.
Well, now that we've got our next objective, I think this is a good place to stop! Next time, we'll be heading towards our first dungeon—Yoll Graveyard! See you guys then.
...I just want to reach that one tile beyond that bush so I can shovel it. IS IT TOO MUCH TO ASK.
