It's probably unrelated, but it's a name used for Persona 3's protagonist. (Another is Minato and Sakuya; Makoto is used in the movies, while Minato is used in the manga, and Sakuya used in the stage play.)

It's also the name for a woman in Devil Survivor 2 who's fallen for the protagonist despite the fact that he's 18 and she's 26.
