Note that this is only speculation, and I'm seeing a few people say that it may be just when the show was made and this is still 1987. I feel like there's more to it than that though, so, hopefully, once the DLC comes out, all the questions will be answeredand we don't have to wait for FNAF5.

- Now having seen the TV screen in context, I'm a little less certain that means it's 1983, especially given the kid's attachment to the characters themselves.
That said there's good arguments for both ways, so really this DLC stuff is going to have to clear up a lot of things.
Speaking of DLC, I wonder how it's going to work. Something harder than 4/20 mode?

- Theory relating to Purple Guy:
- So while nomming on some french fries, I thought about how there is a Newspaper clipping saying the killer was nabbed, but yet we all know where the killer ended up.
Then I thought about the Easter egg in FNAF IV that shows Purple Guy taking the head off of a guy in a suit. What if Purple Guy and that person in the suit were accomplices? Meaning that they swapped places to let Purple Guy go take his next victim while the guy in the suit took charge of the security duties, even if he was unaware what Purple Guy was actually doing. What if the guy who got hauled off to prison for presumably a life sentence is the guy in the suit while Purple Guy was free to go back and destroy the rest of the evidence?And ended up becoming Springtrap.
I base most of this off the fact that the door shuts when you approach it.

It makes sense. Just the other day I was thinking that Purple Guy couldn't have possibly done everything alone, considering that he was apparently captured by the police. Plus, this way he could still work the day shift and do his job of watching over people as his buddy is in the backroom killing children.

(Though I'd say that Purple Guy himself killed them, and his buddy just took the fall, contrasting with what Bunny said; why would the spirits be pissed at him if he didn't actually do - wait, no, never mind. Just remembered Mike. And Jeremy. And Fritz. Still think that Purps himself killed them, and nobody was suspicious about him staying out of sight because his job was more "backstage".)

Yeah, gotta agree with the Purple guy did it thing, but I do think the idea of him having an accomplice is quite logical.
