Lost Legends Log
This is where I will toss rules, landmarks, monster info, etc. I want to be the only one to post here that way it can stay reasonably organized. The first post will be a Table of Contents sort of thing linking to other posts with the information in order to maintain things organizedish, so might as well start:

Stats and You
Here are the 6 main stats and what they do:
Strength: How strong you are, and raw physical force, melee weapons tend to use this stat. How its used is kind of straight forwards.
Dexterity: Your physical agility, reflexes, balance and poise, not just that, but also how skillful your hands are. Ranged weapons tend to use this. It is also used for slight of hand, thievery and a few other things.
Constitution: Your health and durability, in short your defense, it also determines how you stand against certain ailments such as illnesses and poison. It is used to determine your HP.
Intelligence: Your mental acuity and memory, most arcane magic tends to use this stat. It also is used to determine what you know and what you don't. In short, book smart.
Wisdom: How attuned you are to your surroundings, general perceptiveness, intuition, insight and ‘other’ senses. It is also used to channel divine power from gods and environments. In short, street smart.
Charisma: How well you interact with others, such as confidence, eloquence, and appearance. It is also useful if your type of magic is used through sheer force of will. Here’s a tip, this stat also decides how good you are at lying and disguising yourself so even if you don’t use it for battle it’s still useful in certain situations.
The average stats for a creature are 10, this means that having stats lower than 10 will give a slight penalty, while those above 10 will give a boost.

Re: Lost Legends Log
Races Ya Racist!
These are only the main races as there are others that aren't so prominent, and also some that are closer to monster than anything else
- Dwarves:
- Dwarves were the mightiest of races before the wars. There mighty fortresses now lay in ruin, and their mines abandoned, save for a few. Their valuable treasures lost, and replaced with a desire to regain that former glory. Dwarves are known for their sturdy, albeit short, bodies, and their knowledge of the earth beneath them. They can also drink tons of ale, making them great at parties.
They are roughly 4-4.5 ft tall, but weight as much as an adult and live around 400 years. Many of them are slow to trust, given how their kingdom crumbled. They value the gifts from the earth, gems, gold, and art made from precious minerals. For them, a name belongs to the clan, but if that dwarf brings shame to their name, they lose it, and are forbidden to use a dwarven name in its place. They also speak and write dwarven. Their religion worships Moradin, the Soul Forger who expects his followers to work for the betterment of his people, the dwarfs. Oh and they have cool beards too.
There are two main types Hill Dwarf or Mountain Dwarf:
Hill Dwarfs are the most common, living in foothills, low mountains, and rugged lands. They managed to escape the wars, and as such live in stable communities. They are stronger than regular dwarves and have more stamina.
Mountain Dwarfs are the descendents of the ones who ruled. They are known for their studies of runic magic, their closeness to Moradin, and ability to forge steel. They are smarter than regular dwarves and are masters when it comes to using armor.
- Elves:
An ancient and powerful people that live in hidden forests or among humans. They are more artistic than the other races, but quite capable with weaponry should the moment call for it. Their emotions tend to be toned down, since they live over 700 years, and are considered children until 110, when they pick a name for themselves.
They are 5-6 ft, and weight 100-145 pounds, being quite slender, though they have no facial or body hair. They are an elegant race, loving all things simple, yet elegant, and are considered hauntingly beautiful by all races. They are proud, and have high expectations for everybody, which only elves seem to be able to reach, yet despite this, they are quite amiable with other races. Their villages are built to coexist with nature, rather than to try to defeat it, like other races do. They tend to worship Corellon Larethian, the Protector and Preserver of Life. He is known for desiring his people to study magic, the arts, dance and poetry, while being powerful warriors. They speak and write Sylvan, the language of many woodland beings.
There are two main types. High Elves and Wood Elves.
High Elves were the first to master arcane magic, and are more serious than their brethren. They are also smarter and more capable with magic.
Wood Elves are free spirits and live in the untouched forests. They might not be as good with magic, but they have another type of intelligence, one gained through experience. They are faster, and much stealthier as well.
- Halfling:
Standing at 3ft, and weighing 40-45 pounds, Halflings tend to survive by avoiding trouble. They are a friendly people, who value family and friendship above all else. They are known for their sideburns, and their fierce loyalty. Unlike the other races, they have never had their own kingdom, and instead live among the others. They are curious and enjoy finding new things, and experiencing new things. They do not have large dreams of gold and fame, but instead of discovering something new to do each day.
They tend to worship Yondalla the Blessed One, the protector of their race. Her teachings are to defend their clans and cherish their families, and of community, hospitality and agriculture. They have their own language, but tend to write in Lingua, the most common language. Their names have no real special meaning, except for the family name which is usually a nickname which sounded good enough to stick. They tend to live 300 years at most.
There are two main types, Lightfoot and Stout.
Lightfoot are adventurers at heart and are naturally stealthy, with charming personalities.
Stout tend to live in one place, but are ready to die for their homes and families. They are thus stronger than the Lightfoot, and tend to be more resilient to poison.
- Humans:
Humans are well…humans. They reach adulthood at 15, and live 100 at most. They are the most adaptive race, and are considered ‘everyone’s second best friend’ as they get along with almost every race. Not much else to say about them. Oh, some of them worship Pelor the sun god, but not much we can say about him. Also there aren't two kinds of humans, and most of them speak and write Lingua.
- Dragonborn:
Did you know that if a dragon does not get her eggs blessed by Bahamut or Tiamat then the eggs hatch into something else, something more humanoid? Dragonborn is what they are called, and since no dragon would fall in love with them, they were forced to mate with other dragonborn until it became its own race. They are the same size as humans, and could pass off as one, except they have scales and look more draconic. They can speak, read, and write Lingua and Draconic, and come in different colors. Black, blue, brass, bronze, copper, gold, green, red, silver, and white, and they have the power to breathe out an element determined by their color!not racist
- Drow:
Drow are in short, dark elves. They are creatures of darkness, and as such thrive in it, but are weakened by sunlight, and other bright lights. They are harder to charm, and cannot sleep, instead mediate for 4 hours when it is time to rest. They can speak, read, and write Lingua, and Elvish.
- Gnome:
Gnomes are small little guys, that most people know little about so I’ll cut to the chase, there are two types, Forest and Rock.
Forest Gnomes live in sylvan forests and hide a lot, relying on illusions and trickery to stay hidden. They are friendly to kind people and are great at moving about. They can also speak with lil animals.
Rock gnomes live in mountains among dwarves, and are known for their craftsmanship. They are smart, and have knowledge of alchemy, magic items, and technology. They can even build neat little devices in a few minutes.
- Half Elves:
When a human and an elf decide to do the horizontal happy dance. They are considered beautiful by humans, yet fairly unattractive by elves. They are quite charming though and are able to avoid sleepy magic. They can speak Lingua and Elvish, and tend to get along with humans and elves, though elves tend to pity them for their shorter life spans which are roughly half of an elf’s (around 400).
- Half Orc:
Why anybody would find an orc attractive enough to do this is beyond me but yeah, it’s a thing. They’re smaller than regular Orcs, but a bit larger than humans. They are also strong and tough, and can speak, read and write Lingua and Orcish.
- Kender:
Kender are related to Halflings, and are very similar, except for one thing. They have insatiable curiosity, a lack of fear, and very nimble. They love picking up random things, and know how to tick off anybody. They also have hammer space style pockets where they have so much stuff, that they don’t even know what’s in there! They can speak, read, and write Lingua and Kenderspeak.
- Tiefling:
One of the most hated races, why? Because of their ancestry, they are half human, half demon. They are considered to be fellow children of Asmodeus, overlord of the Nine Hells, and are thus treated like one of their own. They are smart and charming, and also fire retardant. They have amazing power within their blood, and look perfectly human, until their emotions become strong, then they begin to turn more and more demonic. They can speak, read, and write Lingua and Infernal.
- Warforged:
During the great wars, soldiers were needed. Soldiers took time to train, to raise, to birth, that is why they decided to do something different. They chose to build soldiers, now called the Warforged. They are machines, and have almost all been forgotten, having been shut down during the final battle. Now, some of them are awakening and they are exploring the world. They may be machines, but they have things in common with living creatures, such as circulation and emotions. They are stronger and tougher than normal races, and cannot get sick. They do not need to eat or breathe, though some do like to eat and drink, and instead of sleeping they enter a ‘sleep mode’ for 4 hours each day where they are aware of what’s going on, but are unable to take action. They can speak, read, and write Lingua.
These are only the main races as there are others that aren't so prominent, and also some that are closer to monster than anything else

Not many people can do everything. That's why people tend to fall into certain categories known as classes. These are the playable classes and a brief description of em.
Not many people can do everything. That's why people tend to fall into certain categories known as classes. These are the playable classes and a brief description of em.
- Barbarian:
- Pure, unrestrained power is how you roll. You rely on fury and unmatched durability in combat, and are known for your chaotic, feral rage that burns in your heart.
- Bard:
- You are spoony…or maybe not, I’m not sure, but what I do know is that you can control a very special kind of magic, the magic of…..music. You may laugh now, but using it you can alter emotions and mood, allowing you to inspire fear, dismay, uplift, awaken courage, valor, and even make people take bold action. Also you have gathered a large amount of info from your travels.
- Cleric:
- A servant of a deity, pantheon, philosophy, or universal principle, you are imbued with the power to wield divine magic to defend and heal, but also smite foes. The source of your power comes not from years of studying or training, but from your connection to your deity, your understanding of their wishes, and your zeal to impose your combined wills on the world.
Now clerics are a little more complicated than other classes in that you also have to pick a domain, or basically class within a class. There are Life, Light, and War. You also need to pick a deity :T- Life:
- You promote life, health and abundance as a primary goal and your deity represents the overflowing vitality of positive energy, expressed through healing the sick and wounded and driving away the forces of death. To gain your true blessings you have put yourself directly in the path of anyone who would hurt those who are good, and you constantly wish to aid the sick or injured.
Your possible deities are: Apollo, Demeter, and Hestia of the Olympian pantheon; Isis and Osiris of the Pharaonic pantheon; frey, Freya, and Frigga of the Asgardian pantheon; Chauntea,Ilmater, and Lathander of the forgotten realms; and Ehlonna, Pelor, and Zodal of Greyhawk.
- Light:
- You are infused with radiant light and the power of the sun’s heat. More often than not, you serve some kind of sun god, meaning that you have been entrusted with the power of the sun
and you get infinite sunny d to drinkYou are a beacon of light in a darkened world, bringing light wherever you go. The forces of darkness and death cower in your light.
Your possible deities are: Apollo of the Olympian pantheon; Re-Horakhty of pharaonic pantheon; Balder, Frey, and Odur of the Asgardian pantheon; helm and Lathander of the forgotten realms; and Atroa, Pelor and Pholtus of Greyhawk.
- War:
- War…war never changes. To some it is a chance to reveal their courage and valor, turning ordinary men into heroes, but to others it is desperate and horrific and any race’s worst traits are revealed. As such, you could be a courageous hero, who inspires others to fight for good, or perhaps the battlefield is your temple and violence your prayers. Either way, you are a powerful warrior. The longer you serve your deity, the more and more you become like them. There are tales of battles won without a single blow as armies run in fear from the champion of the god of war. Your very presence can inspire courage, or berserk fury in those who fight by your side.
Your possible deities are: Ares, Athena, and Nike of the Olympian pantheon; Odin, Sif, Surtr, Thor, Thrym, and Tyr of the Asgardian pantheon; Bane, Tempus and Torm of the forgotten realms; and Heironeous and Hextor of Greyhawk.
- Druid:
- Part of an ancient priesthood, you commune with the spirits of nature and protect whose who live in harmony with the land. You call upon the gods to wield the magic of the moon, sun, storm, forest, and beast. You fight using nature, and at higher levels you can become a beast yourself in order to fight.
- Fighter:
- Not sure what you want me to say here, a fighter is durable, and has unequaled weapon mastery. Oh and you also have a weapon style, so pick between Archery, Defense, Great Weapon, Protection, and Dual Weilding
- Mage:
- Oh man, and you thought Clerics were complicated? Mages are magic-users that draw on the subtle weave of magic that permeates the cosmos. You gained your magical power through a keen intellect and mental discipline in order to master the complex formulas you use to bend that power. You start with a spellbook which has every spell you can use, and as you travel you can add spells to that book by making breakthroughs, finding another spellbook and copying the spell into it, or just finally figuring out what those funny symbols and big words meant. You’ll get to pick your spells during the spell picking step which we’ll do later :T
Huh, guess clerics are still more complex
- Monk:
- You punch stuff. No really, as a monk you have mastered unarmed combat. You trained in a monastery where you pursued personal perfection through action and contemplation. Your training has unlocked your physical and spiritual abilities, making weapons pointless.
- Paladin:
- When a warrior swears an oath in a temple before a god’s altar with a priest witnessing, he becomes a paladin. Paladins uphold their god’s highest ideals, turning into a blessed champion. You have divine power which allows you to heal your allies, and smite your foes with divine wrath.
- Ranger:
- Beyond the cities and past the hedges that shelter the most distant farms, there are the many terrors of the wild. You are the one that watches over these dangers, and is ready to fight. Though you might make a living as a hunter, guide, or tracker, your true calling is to defend against the savage beasts. Many rangers are independent, knowing that the only sword you can truly trust is your own.
- Rouge:
- Skill, stealth, and your foes vulnerabilities are things you love to use. You tend to find solutions to almost any problem, and are very versatile. In short, you are seen as a deceitful thief, and you don’t mind, after all, they’re just jealous that you have their money

Re: Lost Legends Log
Every story has a beginning, and we’re going to skip to the good part! These are the possible old jobs these adventurer's had. Also the jobs npcs tend to have as well.
- Backgrounds:
- Artisan:
- Apprentice of a master artisan, you learned how to create items out of raw materials, not just that, you are a member of a guild…though you do have to pay some dues…
You can be one of these artisans:
Alchemist
Blacksmith
Bowyer/Fletcher
Brewer
Carpenter
Cartographer
Cook
Goldsmith/Silversmith
Jeweler
Painter
Potter
Weaver
- Bounty Hunter:
- As a bounty hunter, you have a reputation amongst authorities, who will trust you with information about thieves and outlaws, not just that, but you’ve spent plenty of time learning how to track down said outlaws.
- Charlatan:
- Some call you a swindler, you call yourself a confidence artist. You could talk your way out of almost any situations, and knew just what to say and when. For you, lying is as easy as telling the truth.
- Commoner:
- Nothing fancy, you lived a humble life. Advantage of having such a dull background? You fit right in amongst the common people and can easily be lost in a crowd.
You can pick between these types of commoners:
Fisher
Forester
Laborer
Messenger
Sailor
Serf
Servant
Shepherd
Trapper
- Guide:
- The wilderness is your second home, you know it like you know yourself. You can take care of yourself out there, and food and water are easy for you to find.
- Guild Thief:
- Working for the guild, you steal from whomever you please, as long as the guild does not state otherwise. You trained with the guild and learned everything you could about stealth, and can speak the secret language of thieves.
- Jester:
- Working for a noble, you performed acrobatic stunts and told jokes. You could also do that which few can do…tell the painful truth, as long as you told it in a hilarious way.
- Minstrel:
- You travel the world playing music, and telling tales. Most people welcome minstrels, after all, they tend to bring news of far off lands.
- Noble:
- Your family either has wealth, power and influence, or once did. Not just that, but you have three retainers with you…though they don’t fight…
- Priest:
- You pledged your life to your god, and are an intermediary between them and the mortal world. If you pick priest then pick a god from the list shown under the cleric class description because I’m too lazy to retype them :I
Anyway, as a priest, you are respected at your temples and tend to get free stuff from them
- Sage:
- In short, you are a big nerd. You learned lots about lore and the world. If you don’t know something, odds are you know where to find out about it, although certain things remain secret to this day.
- Soldier:
- You were trained, and learned the arts of war. You may have even fought in a few battles. Perhaps a member of a national army, mercenary company or a local militia? Oh, and pick a rank if you pick this background.
- Spy:
- Secrets? What are secrets to you? You can collect knowledge as if it was nothing, and you also have a connection to a certain someone who can communicate with a spy network.
- Thug:
- Oh crap it’s him! You are the toughest of the tough, and have a menacing aura about you. Most people are afraid of you, and as such, they may be too afraid to try to stand up to you over minor things…
