That kind of baffled me that it's called the Velvet "Room" when it's actually just a limo...

Re: The Cathedral of Shadows
In previous Persona games (1 and both 2s), it was actually a room. Granted, they were usually in malls, but "Velvet Stores" would sound kind of awkward (especially because they existed in some dungeons).
And in 3 it was an elevator that kept on going up.

Re: The Cathedral of Shadows
I've been playing a lot of Persona 4 over the past couple of days since I couldn't get on here, and:
- spoilers for the game:
- I finally got past Yukiko's first boss shadow thing (the knight on a horse shadow). Since it went down fairly easy (because of the level grinding I did), I figured I may as well continue onto the final boss area.... Good thing there was a save point/butterfly before that fight...
I eventually beat Yukiko's shadow on the third(?) attempt. I decided to have Yu (Narukami, the name I went with for the protagonist guy) use Eligor for his physical attacks instead of Izanagi since Zio wasn't doing that much damage (and I learned the hard way in the first attempt that Eligor's Agi heals Yikiko's shadow since she's a fire element... ). I had Yosuke mainly using support skills to heal and boost stats. Chie having Mabufu was handy for dealing with the prince that Yukiko would summon (and for doing some damage to her), and I also used Tarukaja a couple of times to boost Yu's attack to help finish the battle.
So now I've just been exploring the different areas (since I kind of felt rushed to save Yukiko and never got a good chance to explore) and also trying out different things (like joining the basketball club). I wanted to try fishing out, but I'm not exactly sure where I find fishing supplies... I managed to get some bait after making lunch once (which I shared with Chie who liked it very much ), but I still haven't figured out where to get a fishing rod...
Oh, one other thing to note from my recent activities: I got Jack Frost after checking out some different fusions.- hee ho:

Re: The Cathedral of Shadows
Yeah, Izanagi does become kind of awful after a while. He's better than Orpheus, the P3 Hero's starting Persona, at least, who has no resistances and a weakness to Dark attacks, which instantly kill.

Re: The Cathedral of Shadows
Is it a bad move to keep Izanagi throughout the game then? I kind of wanted to keep him since he's so cool.

Re: The Cathedral of Shadows
Kinda, yeah.
In theory, you can keep him caught up with Arcana Chances that raise stats and "level up" skills (and level up your Persona), but that's more luck-based and not really worth it for a guy who you're mainly keeping around because he looks awesome (which he does).
EDIT: Also you can only meaningfully level up Izanagi's Cleave; you can only up Zio to Mazio. Which you may or may not already have. (Generally, you can only level up skills to their attack-all variants. The exceptions are Megido spells, because they're already attack-all, and physical skills, because...er.[/spoiler]

Re: The Cathedral of Shadows
So... I just figured out that some of the Persona Skills are using HP instead of SP....

Re: The Cathedral of Shadows
Yep. All Phys-type attacks use a percentage of your HP rather than a set amount of SP to attack.
This is slightly more advantageous, though - SP-restoring items are pretty rare in Persona 4. You can only find them in treasure chests.
...well, there are some SP-restoring drinks, but those only give, like, 5 or 10 SP.

Re: The Cathedral of Shadows
Oooooooohhh... That's why the attacks seem to be more expensive to use now. I noticed that Eligor's physical moves jumped up a bit in cost during this battle.
And yeah, I figured out about the rare SP items.... I'm going to start stocking up on soda after I get back to town.
